Using Up Scraps- post 2 of 2

This card came together easily.

I started out with a bunch of small pieces of dsp and some flowers.....and with the help of my square punch, an embossing folder I got this great quilt background for my greeting.

Using Up Scraps- post 1 of ....

We all have scraps....and sometimes they can be overwhelming.

Today and tomorrow I am going to share cards I made using up my scraps.

These cards are not standard size....as I was using up scraps....but it is amazing what you can do....this one started with an odd sized piece of black card stock, a cardboard frame from scrapbook supplies and a stamped greeting.

Sunday Inspiration....

We all have challenges in our lives....some are small and some are big....and some seem impossible.

I found this photo online...it is an inspiration to me.....and so very true.....if we just keep taking small steps over and over we will reach our goal, our final destination. We can never give up.   It may not happen quickly....it may take a long time.....but in the end you will have your victory and a feeling of accomplishment.

I have to remind myself of this every day.....keep looking at the big picture, think positive and keep going.

Here is some more inspiration for you:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Bokeh Birthday Wishes

The bokeh (out of focus photography term) technique is hot right now....so I thought I had better give it a try.

I took a piece of whisper white cardstock and applied color randomly with sponge daubers. I chose baked brown sugar, so saffrom, pistachio pudding and coastal cabana.

Then I took my circles stencil and added a few colored dots. Then I grabbed my whisper white ink and added lots of white dots.

I used my heat tool to dry the white ink as it takes FOREVER to dry.

I stamped two feather images in versamark on vellum from the Four Feathers stamp set.  I used black embossing powder and set it with the heat tool.  I used the coordinating framelits to cut them out. The greeting is from the Four You stamp set.

I used mini glue dots on the back side of the feathers and behind the embossed letters to attach the vellum to the card front.

Now I have a great card I could use for a guy or a girl!

First Day at the Trailer in 2015...

Yesterday, Saturday March 14 was our first visit to the trailer of 2015.
It was a beautiful sunny day with forecast high of 8 degrees.  So  I packed a small cooler,we grabbed the dog, and headed out.

When we got there, there was still quite a bit of snow, but I was able to drive my car right to the lot.  There was about 6-8 inches of snow on the deck.....and it was slushy and heavy!  So we grabbed the shovel and started clearing it....why oh why do we have a big deck???? LOL

Here is the temperature when we first got there:

Another shot of my handsome hubby:

We fired up the barbecue and had a great lunch on the deck and sat back and soaked up the sunshine.  And of course Miss Dixie was enjoying the sun:

Yes that is my pants drying on the chair....I slipped and fell in the snow and got a wet ass.....and I was cold....so we went in the trailer and found a pair of Mike's sweat pants that I changed into until my jeans dried.

And here is a pic of the two of us together:

Last Sunday's Treasure...

Every morning, when I get out of bed and look in the mirror, I try to remember to say " Something good is going to happen to me today"

So last Sunday was the first BEAUTIFUL day in Winnipeg.  It was sunny and everything was melting and made you feel that winter was finally starting to end and spring was in the near future.

I was itching to go for a walk, so I asked hubby if he wanted to come with me. He agreed and we were off for a beautiful afternoon walk.

The sidewalks were still snow packed but we headed to the walking path that is a few blocks from our home.  It is so nice to walk there because all you have are walkers and bikers- no cars, no splashing....just a great place to walk or jog or bike.

This walk in itself was my "something good"

Well after walking for about 45 minutes I had to go to the bathroom and we were quite a hike away from home, so we headed to the closest place I knew that has a public bathroom- Subway.

After we left Subway and another "something good" happened to me.  Laying on the sidewalk was a 100 dollar bill!!!!

I immediately picked it up, looked at Mike, and said "something good is going to happen to me today"  Well we laughed about that one.

Here is my $100 bill:

Yep, a spare for our Monopoly game!

Oh well, we had a beautiful walk together and a good chuckle over my found "treasure"

Keep smiling and every day, with a positive attitude,  tell yourself "something good is going to happen to me today!!!"

SATURDAY MORNING BRIGHT IDEA....

So I have a funny story to share with you today.

Last Saturday morning, I was up early (6:00 am grrrr)!!

I was in the kitchen making my coffee and ran out of sweetener. So, I went to the cupboard and got a new box...dumped the box into my glass storage container and was heading for the garbage can to dispose of the box when I was struck with an idea.

The box was small....why couldn't I use it for a mini album???? Hmmmm....

Well here is my mini album journey:

I cut the top bottom and one side out and I had my book shape:

Here is the finished product:

I quietly left this on my husbands computer desk and he was pleasantly surprised.

Now I am thinking about all the cereal boxes....that would make a nice big album.....and what about a baby soap box for a super tiny album.....oh my mind is reeling...

Sugar Twin Box
Typecraft Printed Cardstock- ( This is super heavy cardstock)
Scoreboard
Distress Ink & Applicator Tool
