A Friend....

I found this on line and printed it off.....I colored the image with copic markers and then used my Tim Holtz distress inks  and applicator in tumbled glass and old paper to color the background.  A couple of pieces of ribbon scraps and I am done!

Beautiful Brielle.....a scrapbook layout

This layout features my beautiful granddaughter Brielle.  This picture was taken last August at our trailer at Oasis Beach. Isn't she absolutely gorgeous!

The inspiration for this layout came from the colors in her bathing suit....I wanted something fun and summery.

I chose a solid blue background color.  Then I took white cardstock and painted a sunburst pattern in blues yellows and greens .  Once I had this dried I cut my cardstock into 1 1/2 inch horizontal strips and distressed the edges of each with my distresser. Next I took the strips and sewed down the center of each strip on my sewing machine for added interest. Then I simply glued the strips onto the blue cardstock, allowing the blue background to show through.

I matted Brielle's picture on a different shade of blue mat. Then I added a couple of pre-printed tags and a journal tag.  A couple of wooden elements completed this page.

Scrapping with my prizes....

So a couple of days ago I told you about some prizes that I won.

Today I wanted to share with you what I made with some of those prizes:

I think this is the most labor intensive page I have ever done....but it was a lot of fun too!

Here is a closeup of those gorgeous flowers I won:

I started out with two sheets of cardstock in different shades of yellow...I cut one into the sun pattern.

Then I used a combination of my distressing tool and my fingernails to distress the edges and curl the edges so that the underneath paper showed through the rays. Then I glued to two pieces together.

Next I added texture paste with a mask to give some texture.  It took a long while for this to dry.

Next I added some green sheer ribbon with glitter in it.  Then on to some glimmer mist I made with yellow re-inker and iridescent medium.  This really added shipper....I added it to the flowers as well

Then I got our my pastels and played adding watercolor all over.

I had these wooden butterflies which I glittered up and added to a black paper butterfly- a few sequins added more detail.

And this was a leftover from a couple years ago:

I added some flowers, some bling to the centers and leaves and a couple of tags.  Then some more iridescent colored spritz and I was done!

I WON!!!!!!!

So I was following a blog hop put on by Simon Says Stamp....and I won their blog hop prize!

Here's what I got:
A background stamp from Unity Stamp Company valued at $14.99US....here is what it stamps like....looks like chicken wire with words behind it.

Some Prima flowers valued at $4.99US

And some itty bitty flower sequins valued at $2.99 US
This was a great surprise pack...I will use the flowers in my scrapbooking....the flower sequins will be used for shaker cards and of course the background stamp I can use for both cards and scrapbooking.

The best thing is that these items are things that I would never choose for myself....so it is going to be fun using them in my projects. You never know...I might find a new style I like thanks to these prizes!

Thank- you Simon Says Stamp!

The Stamps of Life.....Cat2Stamp....Die Hard Club

So recently I subscribed for a monthly stamp set and die club Die Hard Club.

They are made by a company called The Stamps of LIfe and each month I receive a new stamp set with coordinating dies. This club costs just $23.90 per month + $1.50 shipping....now that is a deal!!!

If you want to check it our go to www.thestampsoflife.com

They have three different clubs- stamp club, die hard club, and a kit club.  The stamps are the same in the stamp and the die hard club...but the kit club is different.

I recently received my first set called Cat2Stamp:

Aren't they cute!  And I love that the dies coordinate!  I must say I was VERY impressed with the quality. And as a bonus there is even a little paw print border die!

And to make it even better, they also include each month, a storage sleeve that fits in a standard binder!

It has room for the dies and the project card in the top pocket and the stamps in the bottom pocket!  Bonus!

I can't wait to play with this set and am eager to see what my next month set is!!!

The only negative comment I have is that the US postal service or Canada Post take too long to deliver!  This set was ordered on Feb 11 and shipped on Feb 11 and I did not receive it until March 9th!!!  That is nearly a month of waiting for new toys!!
