Failed Card....

This is a card I was trying to design for one of my Christmas Card classes.

I really missed the mark on this one with poor color choice......however, I did use the design.....but when the girls made the card the card base was Mossy Meadow, the circles were Mossy Meadow and Whisper White, the DSP was the tree images from the Season of Cheer DSP, and the greeting piece was white but mounted on Espresso.  I then used the spritzer tool to remove some of the "whiteness" around the deer and the greeting with an Early Espresso marker. I worked out MUCH better with proper color choices.

Something Different . . .

I recently purchased a box card die set from a company in the US. . . and I just had to share it with you. . . Isn't it cute!!!   And oh so easy.....the card is a die, the decorator panels are a die, the flowers are a die ( with the exception of the Stampin Up! punches on the front side)

And it folds flat and fits perfectly in a normal envelope!  Bonus!

Oh Christmas Tree. . . Oh Christmas Tree. . .

Ok.....I know, I know......be quiet. . . .you can't sing your way out of a wet paper bag. . . . but this year I am exceptionally happy because I am going home to see my son!!!!  Yippie!!!

I have been driving hubby and my co-workers crazy for the past month singing silly snippets of Christmas carols.

Sorry folks.....but this Mom is super excited to see her boy ( I know he is a grown man, but he is still my boy!) and to see my parents and my brother, and my friends back home.

I am sad because hubby is staying home with our dog, and sad that I will be traveling alone all day, Christmas day....but very happy to get to see my family- living far apart is hard, especially at the holidays.

My trip is short, just a few days.....but will be totally worth it!

Penguin Fun

This is a sample card I made for one of my Christmas card classes.

Once I made it I knew that I did not like the white card base.....too white for me.  So when my girls made it in class, I substituted Garden Green cardstock and boy did that make the card pop!

The images are from the Snow Place stamp set found on page 33 of the Holiday Catalog. The greeting is from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set.

Cuteness!

Sometimes you just have to relax and have fun!

I taught this card in my Mega Christmas Card Classes ( 30 cards in one day) and it was by far the most challenging card for my girls.

Most were intimidated, and some even obsessed over the placement of each image.

When I designed this card, my thought was that this would be an easy peasy, quick and fun card to make.   Aparently not so.. . . LOL...who knew!

This card was made entirely using the assorted images from the Work of Art stamp set- a totally non Christmas stamp set.  His hat was made using two of the stamps.  His eyes and mouth using another, his nose another, and his scarf using two more stamps.

I think it is a whimsically fun card!

More Embellished Ornaments . . .

As promised, here are two more beauties that I made with the Embellished Ornaments stamp set and matching framelit dies.

These cards started with the Cherry Cobbler mats. . . I mis-cut these pieces for a Christmas Card class so I had to do something with them.  This is what I came up with:

Don't you love the glitzy goodness of the Silver Glimmer Paper, Silver Foil and Silver Cording Trim!

The simple greeting is from the retired  Project Life stamp set called Holiday Cheer.

Come back tomorrow for my final card using Embellished Ornaments stamp set!

Embellished Ornaments & Versatile Christmas

I made this card using the branch image from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set found on page 15 of the Holiday Catalog.

I stamped the image in Garden Green ink and used Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to fill in the berries with sparkly color.

The greeting is from the Versatile Christmas stamp set found on page 26.

The DSP is Merry Moments found on page 27.

And for a bit more glitzy goodness. . . .the gold Cording Trim found on page 24.

Come back tomorrow for another couple of cards made with Embellished Ornaments stamp set...

Christmas Cuties. . . .

I made this card using the stamp set found on page 19 of the Holiday Catalog called Christmas Cuties.

I LOVE this set.  There are four images - an elf, an angel, snowsuit boy, and snowflakes and three greetings.

I went against the grain and tried a nontraditional color combination..... I like it.  The snowflake punch is a Fiskars punch.

Reason for the Season . . . .

Here are a couple of cards I made using Reason For The Season stamp set found on page 31 of the Holiday Catalog.

I LOVE how these turned out.

The first one I stamped in Archival Black ink and then colored the images with markers:

And the second one  I also stamped in Archival Black ink but only colored the leaves and the flower centers.  Then I grabbed my Wink of Stella clear glitter brush ( coming in January in the Occasions catalog) and painted the flower petals with the clear glitter.

This card is GORGEOUS but so very hard to photograph!
