Birthday Blooms

I created this card while sitting in front of the tv one night watching a movie.

I have a really hard time sitting still for long periods of time.....and the coloring seems to distract me somewhat.

I used my copic markers.

The card base is Pistachio Pudding (retired) and I used Memento Black ink pad.

When completed I removed some of the "whiteness" by sponging with Sahara Sand ink.

Picture Perfect and Cottage Greetings. . .

I tried my hand at a fancy card using the new Picture Perfect two step stamp set.

The leaves are from the Rose Wonder framelits and the greeting is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.

This card is a bit busy for my tastes....I am a clean and simple kind of gal.....but was fun to make!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Picture Perfect stamp set!!!

Challenge Cards and Weekly Recap

A while back, I gave a few of my card class girls a challenge.

I gave them a ziplock bag containing a card base, some mats, some miscellaneous pieces, some stamped images etc.  I gave them the challenge to come back to next class with cards created from the items in the bag.

The three cards above were what they created.......AWESOME and FUN!

Here is a recap of last weeks posts:

Personal Post- Trailer Visit and Dixie's Friends Bring Her A Present

Two weeks ago we took a drive out to the campground to see how things were melting.  It was a BEAUTIFUL day!

I was so excited to be going out so early but  not happy when we got there and found that a bleepin' red squirrel had decided to chew my hand painted mailbox!!!!!   Geesh!!!

We took a picnic lunch, and after a bit (ha ha)  of snow shoveling, we got the deck cleared and had our picnic.  Man it was nice....so warm sitting in the sun we had to take off our heavy coats.

Every year we go out for a picnic but this is the earliest we have ever been able to do this.....prior to this the earliest was March 31.

Dixie was very excited to go....but a little wee dog in deep snow was hard work for her to walk in.  Isn't she cute in here purple snow suit!!!

Last weekend we went again and there was no way she was staying home.....she was eager to go and had her nose glued to the front door so as she was not left behind when we left.  Funny!

Last week my card class girls arrived with a little gift bag for Dixie.

In it was a new pink sweater ( she loves her clothes) that says " Cat's Suck"

Here are a couple of class pics and Dixie playing with her friends.

Too cute ladies.....too cute!

The creative girls hard at work making their cards.

My Double trouble duo....always responsible for loads of laughs and fits of giggles.

Showing off her new sweater with her friends!

Thanks again girls- Love ya!

Potluck Shoebox Swap

Last weekend I hosted a Poluck Shoe Box Swap.  Each person designed a card and brought the supplies and the card kits for each attendee to make one.  Also each person brought something to contribute to a potluck lunch.

The above card is the one that I designed for the swap.

The gorgeous cards below are the cards the other girls designed for each of us to make- these are mine:
 Flowering Fields designed by Dorothy

 Rose Wonder designed by Carole

 Night Scene designed by Loretta

We had a great time and enjoyed some yummy treats for lunch too!  Looking forward to another Shoe Box Swap in September!

Butterfly Basics and Timeless Textures

This is a card we made in my March techniques classes.

We stamped the background using Timeless Textures stamp set and Versamark ink.

Then we stamped the flower images from Butterfly Basics stamp set using Archival Black Ink.

The greeting is from the Greatest Greetings stamp set.

Finally we colored the images using Wisteria Wonder and Mint Macaron markers.

The Crumb Cake panel was then adhered to card base using dimensionals.

Rose Wonder Card with Masking & Spritzing

Here is a "Technique by Request" card.  One of my girls asked to learn the spritzing technique.

I needed an easy card with a wow factor.....and this one fit the bill.

I cut the floral image from the Rose Wonder framelits - making a mask for this process.

I laid the mask on thick whisper white card stock and spritzed it with real red spritz mix.

Special Request Card

One of the guys at my office asked me if I could make a card with forget- me- not flowers on it for him.

Wow....no pressure.  I have no forget me not stamp.  However....I had lots of punches.

I stared out by getting a photo of forget me not flowers off the internet.  Here is the photo:

The flowers come in varying shades of blues.....so I chose a couple of different shades for my card.

I used the petite petal punch to get my five petal flower.  I used a punch for the white centers that I purchased years ago at Michaels.  Then a hole punch for the yellow center and a black brad for the middle.

Its hard to tell in my photo above but the flowers are curved so the petals lift off the card for a 3D effect. The stems are from the World of Dreams stamp set.

Sale-A-Bration Product of the Week. . . Perfect Pairings!

Perfect Pairings Stamp Set
Perfect Pairings Stamp Set
This stamp set is more than meets the eye—it’s nine pieces, but you can mix and match the greetings for endless possibilities!
Here’s what one of our concept artists said about it:
“This is the perfect set for a beginning stamper because it has a variety of greetings all in one. The greetings can stand alone or be combined in countless ways. Yes, this is a greeting set but the fonts are bold enough to stand alone so you don't necessarily need an image set to go with it.”
So start playing and see how many greetings you and your customers can come up with!
