2.28.2017 Flourish Thinlets Dies

I made this card a while back and forgot to post it....oops.....
SEPARATED V CARD TUTORIAL

Supplies:
Calypso Coral Card Base 8 ½” x 5 ½”
Cupcakes & Carousels DSP 4” x 4 6/16”
Basic Black scrap cardstock for flourish & sprig & small flower
Flourish Thinlet Dies
Calypso Coral Scrap for large flower
Memento Black ink pad
Basic Pearls
Metal Rimmed Pearl
Dragonfly Dreams stamp set
Scrap cardboard from DSP packaging
Tombow adhesive & sponge

Method:

1.       Using scrap cardboard from DSP packaging cut a piece measuring 4” x 4”
2.       Measure up from bottom left corner 1 ½” and make a mark with pencil
3.       Measure up from bottom right corner 2 ¼” and make a mark with pencil
4.       Measure in from bottom right corner across bottom 2 ¼” and make a tick mark.
5.       Put tick marks from bottom to left in track on paper trimmer and slice off corner.
6.       Put tick marks from bottom to right side in track on paper trimmer and slice off other corner.
7.       Now you have created your template that looks like this:

8.       Trace the template onto the BACK side of your DSP and trim along lines.  KEEP THE CUTOFF PIECE.
9.       Glue DSP to card front using snail or Tombow adhesive.
10.   Stamp greeting in v shape.....use a Stamp-A-Ma- Jig if you are nervous of mis-stamping.
11.   Cut flourish, sprig and small black flower using thinlets and scrap black cardstock.
12.   Cut large flower using thinlet and scrap calypso coral cardstock.
13.   Use a glue dot to adhere the large flower temporarily to center front.  ( I rolled glue dot on my jeans to un-tack it somewhat)
14.   I cut my flourish apart and adhered to front of card- the easiest way for me to achieve this is by using silicone mat and putting a dollop of Tombow glue on it...then I take a sponge and tap glue onto the back of the flourish and flower pieces and adhere to card.
15.   Once I had all my flourishes where I wanted them I removed the large flower and glue dot.  I used the same process as above on the flower pieces to adhere them to card.
16.   I finished off the flower with a metal rimmed self adhesive pearl.

17.   Then I added a few basic pearls to the sprigs.

2.17.2017....Dragonfly Dreams....

I made this card a couple of weeks ago using the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set found on page 26 of the Occasions Catalog.

I used the wings for the dragonfly with Sweet Sugarplum ink and stamped it multiple times to make a flower.

Next I stamped the bee and greeting using Memento Black ink.

Then I grabbed a blender pen and Daffodil Delight ink to fill in the flower centre and to colour the bumble bee.

I used Sahara Sand ink and the blender pen to colour the bees wings.

I used Wink of Stella clear for the wings and the flower centre. Sorry really hard to photograph the glittery goodness of Wink of Stella.

A few coordinating sequins finish it off ( and covered up an oops)

Finally I mat the focal piece on Basic Black card base.

Tips and Tricks For the Precision Base Plate

2.13.2017-The Wilderness Awaits- Silhouette Tutorial

This is the fifth of five designs we made in my January Masculine Stamp-A-Stack.

It features the great image from the Wilderness Awaits stamp set found on page 130 of the Annual Catalog.   It is a GREAT masculine set.

I sponged the background with Dapper Denim and Old Olive ink.....stamped the image in Memento Black ink and then colored in the image with a black Stampin' Write marker for a silhouette effect.  This card also looks very nice without using the black marker for the silhouette effect.

2.09.2017- the moose is loose. . .

I saw this moose die online, and it immediately reminded me of a time when I was in high school, when a huge moose was loose in the city, and was trapped in our back yard.  T

he conservation officers had a heck of a time getting him out of the city and back to the safety of the woods without getting hurt.

This is a card I created using yet another sun ray mask I created using my Cameo.  You can see the other one HERE

The trees are a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set.

The inks I chose were Memento Black, So Saffron and Blushing Bride.

The card stock is Whisper White and Basic Black.  The moose was cut from Early Espresso.

2.06.2017 Paper Players Challenge #330

I decided to play along with the Paper Players Challenge #330....you guessed it....a Valentine's Challenge.

And what is better for Valentine's Day than hearts and glitter?

The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set found on page 90 of the Annual Catalog.

Both designer series papers are from the Sending Love DSP stack found on page 15 of the Occasions Catalog.

The glimmer paper is found on page 175 of the annual catalog

The hearts were cut with the Sweet and Sassy Framelits found on page 193 of the annual catalog.

The greeting was punched with the Classic Label Punch found on page 186 of the annual catalog.

2.06.2017- Lift Me Up

I love the colorful balloons and reminds me of back home in New Brunswick, at the annual Sussex Balloon Festival.

This is the second design of five we made in my January Masculine Stamp a Stack.

It features the new stamp set and coordinating dies from the Lift me Up Bundle found on page 10 of the Occasions Catalog found HERE.  The air balloon images are great and the dies are superb.

I love how the dies have individual pieces to fill in the back side of the balloon image as shown in my previous post HERE.

And the greetings are wonderful- perfect for a variety of occasions- birthday, congratulations, love, support, thank you etc.

2.05.2017 CAN YOU CASE IT CHALLENGE #146

Today I decided to play along with a card making challenge.

Here is my card I came up with using the challenge colours:

Here was today's colour challenge:

The images are from the stamp set Gift of Love and the bee is from the Dragonfly Dreams bundle.

I LOVE the two step stamp set for the flower image.

I found this to be a challenging colour combination....but who doesn't love a good challenge, especially on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

2.03.2017- Art Impressions Beach Babes. . . make me laugh. . .

As soon as it arrived I sat down and I created this card for my girlfriend, who I know will appreciate the humorous card, and get a good laugh when she opens it....it was a hoot to color- couldn't decide which loud color to use next....LOL.

2-02-2017- Love You Lots Hedgehogs

I was playing in my craft studio the other day and came up with this card using a masking technique.  I used pool party and sahara sand ink to sponge the background.

The hedgehogs were stamped on soft suede card stock.

Pretty simple card but I like how it turned out....next time I might stamp the hedgehogs on crumb cake card stock so they are not quite so dark.

2-01-2017- Crazy Dogs Stamp Set. . . Have a doggone great day!

I recently purchased the Crazy Dogs stamp set which I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE.....did I say I Love it?  LOL!

The playful images with the expressive faces make me smile every time!!

I wanted a Tim Holtz rays mask as well,  but could not find one in stock anywhere locally or online,  so I got out my Cameo and made myself one out of acetate.....and I am mighty pleased with how it turned out.  And the fact I saved myself $17.95 is a bonus too!
