30.03.2018....No Line Water-Coloring.....

I got some pan water colors a while back and decided to try them out.

I have tried this technique a couple times previously with other watercolors and was pleased....this time....not so much! It was a hot mess!

The colors were less intense and less rich....the paint did not flow and quite frankly was more water than color.  It was a lot of work- repeatedly painting over and over to get a good base of color, which distorted the images greatly and wreaked havoc on the watercolor paper.  There were a couple iridescent colors in the tray and I decided to try them on the flower centers and they were TERRIBLE!

So....the point of this post....ALWAYS try something...(it is just a piece of paper) but DON'T freak out when it does not turn out. Am I proud of this card....absolutely not!  Will I use this card- no.

Why am I showing this card...to show you that everyone screws up and has disasters when card-making.  Will I try painting with watercolor paints on a card again?  ABSOLUTELY!!!...but not with these paints....they are GARBAGE.  LOL!

Have a beautiful Easter holiday- may you be blessed and surrounded by family and friends.

Inky huggs til next week!

29.03.2018...3D Thursday....

Sorry I have been missing posts for the past couple of days....I have been sick and not up to creating or posting.

Today's share is a 3D photo frame.

I found this on the internet.  It had a great image with an awesome quote by Winston Churchill, that spoke to me.

I printed it off and colored it with my Stampin Blends.  Love it!

24.03.2018...Scrapbook Week....You are Awesome....12x12 Double Layout

Thought we could switch gears from the 8.5 x 11 layouts and move on to a 12 x 12 double page layout.  I created this layout from scraps....I stamped the flowers and the title and the journal boxes and the rest came out of my scrap bin.

You might recognize the printed pieces on the end from my mini album I shared with you a couple of week ago.

Here are close-ups of the individual pages:

20.03.2018...Scrapbook Week.....Message in a Bottle ......8.5 x 11....

So I have had this on my "crafting bucket list' for a while now....I wanted to start an 8 1/2" x 11" scrapbook album....many times I have just one or two photos....and since I already have all the Stampin Up card stock colors, the smaller size might work better for me....I gave it a go this weekend... The stamp set I used is Message in a Bottle. I was pleased with the outcome and will continue this type of scrapbooking....along with my 12 x 12 of course.

A visitor at card class....

We had a special visitor at card class in March.....FLAT STANLEY!

Flat Stanley belongs to my great-nephew (God that makes me sound ancient) in Alberta.

Flat Stanley was sent to Winnipeg via Canada Post so that he could experience life in Winnipeg.

He needs to go to lots of places to learn about things like the Forks, the Manitoba Museum, the Legislative Buildings, Museum for Human Rights, the Art Gallery, Fort Whyte Alive, St. Boniface Cathedral etc etc and then go back to Alberta to teach the kids what Winnipeg is all about......

but the most exciting stop was card class!  He learned lots of great card making techniques in class and had fun laughing with the girls.

Doesn't he look like the hit of the party! Ha!

And here is Noah with his work of art!

And finally, sweet Brielle with her artwork!

and when I asked the three of them to get together for a picture this is the silliness I got- they said this was their gangsta look....hahaha!  ....so then I said c'mon guys....be serious for just one pic.....

and this is what I got....silly boys!

Finally....silliness aside for 2.3 seconds ....I managed to snap a pic in that time frame....whew!  LOL   Artistic and gorgeous grand-kids...I am blessed!

If you would like to join me for Scrapbook Saturday...you will make great layouts like this- three to be exact- LOL and have a nice lunch provided as well.
