June 25, 2019...A Little Lace Bundle....

This is the first card I made using the new A LITTLE LACE BUNDLE found on page 42 of the annual catalog.

I cannot tell you how much I LOVE this amazing die....oh the possibilities!

The color palette I chose was Petal Pink, Whisper White and Pool Party.

The GORGEOUS ribbon is the Petal Pink Whisper White Variegated Ribbon from the Occasions catalog.  This ribbon is just so soft and a dream to work with.  It is still available item #148776.

Here is a closeup of the bundle:

June 24, 2019...Delightful Day

Check out this fun card....I made this with the new Delightful Day stamp set found on page 34 of the Annual Catalog.

This stamp set is part of a bundle I purchased....but for this card I did not use the coordinating punch....but rather the Stitched Nested Label Dies found on page 196 (these are part of the Bird Ballad Bundle on page 91)

For my color palette I chose this combination:
This was a super quick and easy card to make.....and there were LOTS of greetings to choose from in this set....here is a closer look:

June 20, 2019...Perennial Essence a fun fold with Heat Embossed Vellum. . .

Have you had a chance to check out the Perennial Essence Suite found on page 107 of the Annual Catalog?  This suite is GORGEOUS!

This card features a bunch of products from that suite.

My color palette I chose was:

The card base is Whisper White and has a fun fold feature.

The greeting was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink.

The ribbon is the GORGEOUS Petal Pink Organdy Striped found on page 107.

The designer series paper is the Perennial Essence DSP found on page 108.

The flower was stamped on the Perennial Essence Cardstock Vellum found on page 169 and heat embossed.

Did you know you can emboss with just Stampin' Up! classic dye ink pads?  Yup, I taught my girls how to do this during this class!

June 19, 2019....Above The Clouds Window Card. . .

The Above The Clouds bundle found on page 89 is the star of this card.

It features the Above the Clouds stamp set and coordinating Hot Air Balloon Punch found on page 188.

There is a window punched into the front of the card, and images stamped around and through the window...so when you open the card there are balloons on the inside too!

June 18, 2019...Embellished DSP Background with Ribbon Coloring Technique....Mosaic Mood...

This card features products from the Mosaic Mood bundle found on page 119 of the Annual Catalog. It was one of four cards we made in my June Techniques Card Class.

The GORGEOUS designer series papers in this suite steal the show!

For this card, I gave the girls some butterfly body jewels that we colored with Stampin' Blend alcohol markers and adhered to the butterflies printed on the DSP.

The Very Vanilla Gold Metallic Edged Ribbon from page 175 was colored using alcohol markers to coordinate beautifully with the DSP.

The greeting from the Memorable Mosaic stamp set found on page 120 was stamped using Crushed Curry ink on white card stock and punched out using the coordinating Timeless Label Punch found on page 187

The color palette I used here was Mint Macaron, Soft Suede, and Crushed Curry.

Simple card, simple techniques- GORGEOUS results.

June 12,2019....VIDEO on new dies and new embossing folders... Awesome!

Check out George and info on the new style of dies and new style of 3D embossing folders and what you need to know about using them:

https://youtu.be/u2EzO8wHKto

HIGHLIGHTS:

NEW-STYLE DIES AND EMBOSSING FOLDERS

Since we’re using a new supplier for our dies and embossing folders, they’ll be manufactured differently, which means the way you use them will be a little different. We’ll highlight a few of the changes between the old-style and new-style products below. In the future, we’ll also provide videos to show how to craft with the new-style dies and embossing folders and better showcase the features described below.
We’re confident the new-style products will continue to uphold our high-quality standards and that you’ll be happy with your crafting results using the new style.
Here are some of the changes you’ll notice with our new-style dies and embossing folders:
  • Our new-style open dies (those that coordinate with stamps) use a high quality metal that’s thinner than before but still as strong and durable.
  • The new-style dies have an added lip to the inside of the blades.
  • On old-style dies, when you place an open die (dies that coordinate with stamps) over a stamped image, a small border of cardstock is visible around the stamped image. With new-style dies, the die hugs the edge of the stamped image. Instead of aligning the die to the space around the stamped image, you will align it to the edges of the stamped image. When the image is cut, there will still be a cardstock border around the image.

NEW STYLE ALIGNMENT

2019_DIE_COMPARISON__2
2019_DIE_COMPARISON__4
  • We’ve improved the adhesive that secures the dies to the insert sheet in the package so that it’s not too sticky. It’s easier to remove dies from the insert sheet, and the adhesive won’t cling to the dies.
  • We’ve standardized the size of the die inserts for easier storage based on our observation of how demonstrators store their dies. There are now only two insert sizes: 5" x 7" (12.7 x 17.8 cm), which coordinate in size with our stamp cases, and 6" x 6" (15.2 x 15.2 cm). The standard sizes will allow uniform storage in whatever system you use. The envelopes that the dies come in will be slightly larger.
  • With old-style Dynamic folders, we recommended you spritz cardstock before embossing to soften the fibers so you got a better impression. Now, that extra step will not be necessary because the new-style folders usually create a crisp impression without spritzing. The way the new folders are manufactured also gives us options for more detailed and intricate designs in the future.
  • 3D folders are thinner than our old-style Dynamic folders. Because they are thinner, you will need to use a shim, depending on the die-cutting & embossing machine you use.

June 7, 2019...Rooted In Nature and a Quilt Top Card. . .

This is a fun card I made using the paper piecing technique.

Basically, it is just piecing and gluing squares of dsp to a piece of cardstock forming a pattern.

Then you cut the excess pieces off the side when you are done.

I layered mine on different colored mats to make the colors pop.

The greeting and leaf embellishment are from the Rooted In Nature Stamp set #148217 found on page 148 of the new Annual Catalog. The coordinating Natures Roots dies are found on page 194.

My color palette is Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White.

An alternate thing you can do is once you get all your squares adhered you can dry emboss with the embossing folder of your choice to give it a quilted look.....or....I just thought of this one.....why not cut squares in solid cardstock assorted colors....and emboss each one with a different folder before you adhere.....that may be cool too!

June 6, 2019...Pop of Petals. . . a double window card. . .

This is a CASE of a card I saw online that I thought was absolutely gorgeous.  I LOVE the bright colors and the simplistic clean design.

I knew instantly, that I had to make one for myself...and the double window design was something I had never tried before.

The stamp set I used is called Pop of Petals and is found on page 16 of the new annual catalog- item#151328.

The coordinating Four Petal Flower punch #147041 is found on page 186.

Night of Navy, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White were the color palette.

The gingham ribbon and dsp just retired last week as well as the greeting... but any dsp and ribbon would work as well as there are TONS of greetings you could use and customize to your occasion.

You could even make this a guy card switching out the flowers for walrus on page 82, critters on page 83, hot air balloons on page 89, boats on page 146, leaves on page 148, fish on page 150.....the possibilities are endless!

If you try one of these cards I would love to see what you come up with!

Here is the online card that I CASED:
