January 30, 2020. . .Botanical Prints Product Medley. . .

Oh my GOSH!  Wow!
I first must apologize... this is going to be a long post full of lots of photos and a video.

This Botanical Prints Product Medley is FANTASTIC!!
I have tons of cards I made to share with you today, along with samples from Stampin' UP! and a video!  Grab a beverage and settle in stampers.....here we go!

I cannot say enough good things about this product medley.  I have made nine cards thus far and I am not even 1/4 of the way through the products......it is HUGE!  Talk about good value!

Here is a video from Stampin' Up!

And here are my cards:

These first two cards are 4x4 size and I used one 33/4 x 3 3/4 piece of laser-cut paper and the same size of designer series paper.  I just flipped them and have two totally different cards using the same supplies!

The lacy strip on the bottom of this card is the same sheet of laser paper as above....just cut off a wee strip and fussy cut

Clean and crisp and simple...

For this one I changed it up a bit....I colored the designer series paper with my stampin blends...

Another simple card but let the designer series paper do all the work....

How about this bright and cheery beauty....gotta love the fabulous dsp

And my last card....I pulled out a retired stamp set and punch....because the lemon paper screamed to have a lemon on it....easy peasy!

This massive kit includes:
  • Botanical Prints distinktive stamp set
  • Coordinating 7 pc Botanical Prints die set
  • 48 sheets of GORGEOUS designer series paper- double sided
  • 4 sheets of die cut accents
  • 4 sheets of AWESOME laser cut overlays
  • Roll of Old Olive 1/4" Twill Ribbon
  • 12 copper metal bee embellishments (SO CUTE!)
For the nine cards above I used 8 sheets of the dsp and one laser overlay and one bee.  I have TONS of stuff left ....woo hoo!

January 20, 2020...Nature's Thoughts Dies....wow....that is unexpected!

Happy Monday Stampers!

Good morning to you all!
Here is a sneak peek of what we are going to be talking about in this post:

I hope you had a snuggly warm weekend.  Here in Winterpeg, it was a stormy one!

I had to cancel my class on Saturday, as I had ladies come from as far away as Pinawa and the snow and blowing snow was nothing to be traveling in!  There were numerous travel advisories out, so for the first time ever, I canceled my class, and rescheduled it for this coming Wednesday, Jan 22.

My girls were very understanding and even thankful, as they did not want to travel in that mess either.

My Saturday was a snuggly jammie day,  spent in my craft room reorganizing and prepping for a couple of classes.  This was great for me and much needed.  My ongoing low iron issues have now been further complicated with low B-12, so on top of monthly blood tests for iron and iron infusions, we can add B-12 to the mix with monthly shots for that!  Geesh!

The constant exhaustion, brain fog, and dropping things all the time are now explained- all side effects of low B-12.

Sunday we went out for breakfast with friends we have not seen since before Christmas at the newly renovated Smitty's on North Henderson Highway.....very nice renovation....so bright and modern!  The roads were SLIPPERY....geesh!

Afterward, we went to the gym and Costco and then back home.  I intended on making a video tutorial and pre-posting some blog posts for this week but man I was exhausted.....I got back in my snuggly jammies and grabbed a blanket and a pillow and had a nap on the couch.......a three and a half hour nap!  Mike woke me at 7 and said "if you don't wake up soon you will not sleep tonight".....no worries....I slept!  Ha ha.....oh well if I must have needed it.

Ok so on to Natures Thoughts Dies, they are in the new PRODUCT COORDINATION promotion starting February 1 and they coordinate with the Postive Thoughts stamp set found on page 23 of the new Spring Mini catalog. Here is the image that is in the promotion flyer:

This is, in my opinion, unimpressive and poor showcasing for these products. I have the stamp set which I love and have already used numerous times....but the dies did nothing for me. I did not give them a second glance and did not purchase them in the demo preorder.

Now when you go to the online store. . . this is another story....this is  a closeup look at this gorgeous stamp set and a closeup look at the coordinating dies:

Now stop and really check out this closeup image.....do you see the unexpected?

Check out that FANTASTIC frame!

It has tiny holes around the frame making it look like eyelet lace!

I found ONE CARD on Pinterest that showcases this great frame.

It was made by Lynn Kolcun, and she paired it with the Bird Ballad stamp set. Isn't this FANTASTIC

Her card has sold me on these dies.  I did not order them....but I am now!

I just thought I would share this unexpected find with you.

Contact me if you live in Canada and wish to order these items ( or anything else)

Have a great day and Happy Stamping!

Funny Story. . . and YouTube videos. . .

Today I wanted to share with you a funny story about a conversation  I had last night with one of my newer customers.

We were talking, and I was telling her that I was trying to upload a video to YouTube.  She said that she did not know I did YouTube videos.

I told her that I did many years ago....short informative videos poorly done because I was so nervous...but nothing relevant now.

Well, she went to my YouTube channel and watched every one of the videos!  Then she messaged me and told me that she had learned a bunch of stuff from them!  Who knew!

She learned:
  • how to refill her Stampin' Write markers
  • about adhesives
  • dental floss trick
  • dowel trick
  • tear n tape trick for ribbon
So, surprising to me, videos from as far back as 8 years ago still had some value to my customer.  Who knew!

I am going to try and make card making videos. . . and hope to share them with you really soon.

I made one the night before last but it was a hot mess and I cannot find a video editing program where I can remove the audio and then do a voice over.....I am working on finding this solution.

Last night I made a quick video on a few of the upcoming new coordination products coming Feb , and it has been posted to my YouTube channel.

Here is the link to my YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/shelloves2stamp

Painted Poppies paired with So Sentimental Bundle....a stunning combination!

Happy Friday Stampers!

You ever have one of those weeks where you had such good intentions, plans set, but then WHAM! life throws you a curveball and there go all your plans!  LOL!  Yep, you guessed it, this was my week.

I had intentions of sharing creating and sharing four Poppy cards with you this week. . . but that did not happen.  My apologies for that.

However, the good news is that I am here now with inspiration card number two.  Check out this beauty and a trick/tip:

Here is the color palette for my card:

I cannot say enough good things about this GORGEOUS bundle of products. . . I am addicted!

The beautiful designer series papers make the cards pop with vibrant colors.

My card base is Poppy Parade 8.5 x 5.5 scored at 4.25
My dsp layer is 4x5.25
I wrapped black satin ribbon around the dsp layer prior to gluing it to the card base.
The sentiment mat layer is Basic Black
The sentiment layer is Whisper White
The poppies were also stamped on Whisper White.

Now for the trick/tip.  I used the So Sentimental bundle for the greeting and greeting tag.  This bundle is WONDERFUL. . . can use it for SO MANY different occasions and you can pair the dies with other greetings as well!  Bonus!

I die stamped and die cut the greeting.....then I took my paper snips and cut along the stitched line all the way around....easy peasy.....and that allowed the black layer to mat perfectly behind it making the greeting POP!  Cool huh!

After I got my card put together I wanted to give it a little something special so I grabbed my Wink of Stella and brushed it over the flowers making them shimmer and shine.  Here is a closeup:

If you live in Canada and would like to purchase any of these products please go to my online store here:
www.shelanderson.stampinup.net

Remember. . . it's the best time of the year. . . Sale-A-Bration!  For every $60 you spend you get to choose one item for FREE from the Sale-A-Bration product brochure!  Woo hoo! Who doesn't love FREE!!!

Have a great weekend!
