Sweet Sweet Moments Make Me Smile

I made this layout for my April Scrapbooking Class.

It features photos of my youngest son through the years....the title says it all- remembering all those sweet moments from years gone by make me SMILE!

It seems like just yesterday he was just learning how to walk....and he is 27 years old this year, just bought his first home, and has three beautiful children of his own. How time flies!

I had a lot of photos that were just singles, so I wanted to do a layout where I could combine all the photos.

Delicate Doilies stamp set made the background.

Assorted scraps were used for mats and flowers.

A little bit of journalling and some washi tape completed the page.

You Make Me Happy

Doesn't this card just scream spring?

I cannot believe that this stamp set and die set has retired....very sad!

Products used to make this card:

  • Backyard Basics Stamp Set
  • Backyard Basics Framelits
  • Perfect Pennants Framelits
  • So Many Scallops Embossing Folder
  • Blender Pen
Technique:  watercoloring

I saw so many wildlife and signs of wildlife this weekend when we were at the trailer.

There were deer tracks right beside our trailer.  And  there were big cat tracks in the mud !!!

Of course there were tons of rabbits, geese, birds, squirrels, chipmunks and geese.

Atttitude

This super fun layout was designed for my April Scrapbooking Class.

It features my BFF showing me some serious attitutude when I was getting a bit too happy with my camera one day. (love ya girl)

The stamped statement "a touch of class and a lot of sass" makes me laugh-  Hahaha too funny!

The background was created using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and assorted inks.

Then I simply used scraps to create the strips to give it some added dimension and interest.

The letters for the title were made using the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies. I chose to have the title go around the focal point for more interest.

Then I inked three wooden circles with coordinating ink to give some dimension and interest at the bottom.

My recent FLOPS !

You know how you get this great idea in your head, and then when you try to create what is in your head,  it is a HUGE flop ?

Well these two cards are examples of my FLOPS.

In my head they were great, simple cards...but as you can see, they just don't cut it when I made them.

Everyone makes cards that don't turn out well. Some days I just do not have the creative mojo!    Just salvage what you can and move on.

Come back tomorrow for cards that are not flops.  :)

Scrapbooking Tools

Today I am going to continue on in my series of Scrapbooking Tips .

You can find my first post on Scrapbooking Organization  HERE

There are so many different tools and supplies available that there is no way I could ever cover them all.  So I am just going to wing it and mention some of the more common ones.

Paper Trimmer- for cropping photos, making mats etc

Journalling Pen- fine tip black is a necessity but colors are fun too

Alphabet Stickers or Alphabet dies- for making titles for your pages

Tombow Adhesive- the best bang for your buck adhesive- temporary or permanent and goes a loooong way!

Ruler- measuring, keeping journalling straight

Label Maker- for journalling

Sticky Strip- double sided tape for adhering heavy items or making a mini album

Computer- for journalling

Adhesive Remover- to quickly fix and mistakes

Scissors- you need a good pair of fine tip sharp scissors for paper only as well as another pair for ribbon and other items

Album and Page Protectors- to store your completed pages

Tweezers and Pick Up Stick- helps with placement of small embellishments

Spritzer Bottle- to make your own homemade spray inks

Punches- add ginterest and dimension to a page

Washi Tape- quick and fun way to add color and dimension to your layout

Embellishments- brads, buttons, metal, clips, candy dots, flowers etc

Cardstock and Designer Series Papers that coordinate for your layouts.

Coloring- inks, pencils, crayons, pastels, markers etc

Sponges and Daubers- to add depth and dimension

Ribbon and Twine- add interest

Bling- go ahead glitz it up girl!

Distressing Tool- to rough up edges

Sew Easy Tool- to add decorative stitching

Book Binding Tool- to make your own mini albums

Tags, Journalling Cards and Paper Embellishments- add interest

Also there are so many pre-made items you can purchase for embellishment as well as assorted types of inks and spritz- texture pastes- hardware the list goes on and on.

My favorite tool by far is my new Cameo Silhouette that dear hubby got me for Christmas.  It is the absolute best!  I can cut my own shapes and titles and manipulate the images myself on my computer to get exactly what I want.

I recently made football shapes that we made into cards  in my monthly card class- these were a big hit
