Monday November 30,2020.... Corner Fold Technique and Corner Chop Technique

 Happy Monday Stampers!  

Today I have a couple of fun cards and a video tutorial to share with you.  

This first card features the Corner Fold Technique which shows off both sides of the fabulous Poinsettia Place designer series paper #153487 found on page15.  The featured bundle is the Wishes and Wonder Bundle #155151 found on page 32. The tree is from the In The Pines Bundle #155182 found on page 43.  

It is so great that we have so many gorgeous products that are stand-alone but can also be combined with other products too!

And this next card features the Corner Chop Technique.  It allowed me to have a triangular open space where I could put my greeting at an angle.

November 25, 2020.....I MISS YOUR FACE! Sneek Peek of Dandy Garden Bundle....

 

The title of this blog post....I MISS YOUR FACE.....is so true for me on so many levels.  

I miss my family.....I miss my grandkids (so much)..... I miss my friends....I miss my card classes......

I so wish to return to NORMAL and put all this crappy COVID business behind us!  

But enough whining.....its time to share a fun card I created using the dies from the Dandy Garden bundle coming soon in the January to June 2021 Mini Catalog.

Hey, Hey Stampers! Happy Thursday!  

I hope your week is going well. 

Today I wanted to pop in and share another challenge card I made during my pre-Onstage 

Business Expo and Creative Party.  

The challenge this time was a sketch challenge.  How fun is this sketch:

Now since there were no other rules...I could have gone in a hundred different directions....but I chose to keep it simple and to keep it seasonal too.  

Here is my card:

I chose products from the GORGEOUS SNOWFLAKE SPLENDOR suite found on page 37 of the current mini catalog.  

Quite frankly, DSP and foil are the stars of this show!

MONDAY, NOV 16,2020...MAKE IT MONDAY...GAME ON AND WAY TO GOAT....STAMP WITH SHEL-A CREATIVE MOMENT... FACEBOOK LIVE REPLAY FEATURING FOUR FABULOUS CARDS!

Today I am sharing a replay of my Facebook Live on Thursday, Nov 12th.  

During this live, I featured the GAME ON stamp set and the WAY TO GOAT stamp set.  

We made three cards online, and I promised you a fourth card on this blog post, using up the little leftover bits which were squares from the BEST PLAID BUILDER DIES.

And....(insert drumroll here)....here is the card I made using up the little leftover squares from the best plaid die.....turned out ok....made some of the squares into diamonds and used one to stamp my greeting on.  Not bad.

 This is a non-creative post... just to follow up on my promise from my Facebook Live video.  

1.  Here is a list of suggested Stampin' Blends for skin tones: 

1. Light Petal Pink
2. Dark Petal Pink
3. Ivory
4. Light Crumb Cake
5. Dark Crumb Cake
6. Light Soft Suede
7. Dark Soft Suede
8. Light Cinnamon Cider
9. Dark Cinnamon Cider
10. Bronze

Save this list in your stamp room for a quick reference.  Maybe even take a piece of Whisper White cardstock and make a sample chart with the color name and a line of the coordinating blend color!

2.  Suggested Items for New Stampers: 

1. Paper Snips
2. Bone Folder- for nice crisp folds on your card bases
3. Stampin Dimensionals- to add depth and dimension to your cards
4. Tombow Multipurpose Glue or Seal AdhesiveRunner
5. Grid Paper- protect your work surface and perfect alignment when stamping or assembling
6. Clear Block Assortment or stamparatus. 
7. Silver Metal Edge Ribbon- can be colored to match any card stock with Stampin Blends
8. Basic Rhinestones- can be colored with Stampin Blends
9. Memento Black Ink
10. Any ink pad color family of your choice- I like brights as it is a happy collection
11. Coordinating pack of card stock to match your ink pad selection
12. Whisper White Card Stock
13. Blender Pen- use with ink pads to color line images.  Once you get going you are going to want to invest in the Stampin Blend markers.....but the blender pen and ink pads is a good starting option

Hey Hey Stampers!  Happy Thursday!  

I am back this morning with more creative goodness from my Stampin' Business Expo and Creative Party.  

Yesterday I shared with you the card I made for the first challenge.  Today it is card number two! 

This challenge was a photo challenge.  

They posted the photo below and we had to make a project using the photo as inspiration. 

Now there were many ways I could have gone with this photo inspiration....but I opted for the coffee mug.  

I also used some of the neutral browns....but opted for a pop of bright, happy color.  Here is my card:

 

I chose the Press On stamp set found on page 68 of the Aug to Dec Mini Catalog.  This set is so versatile! I have got a lot of use out of this set!

Wednesday November 11,2020....Around The World On Wednesday Blog Hop

The theme for this month's blog hop is "The Market" with a focus on texture. 

For my card, I immediately thought of a fruit and vegetable market...who doesn't love to stroll through a summer market and choose all the lovely produce!

 I immediately thought of the Harvest Hello bundle, and chose to go with apples!

 

For my fun fold  card I really went over the top trying to create lots of texture.

 My card base is Granny Apple Green card stock that I embossed with the Old World Paper 3-D embossing folder number 153200 found on page 185.

 

Next l used the Buffalo Check background stamp with Real Red ink on Whisper White card stock ...it is found on page 138 item number 151372. 

Here is a look at the inside of my card when it’s open:

Next I took a piece of Real Red card stock and embossed it again with Tasteful Textile 3-D embossing folder number 152718 found on page 185

Next, I took a piece of the Good Taste designer series paper found on page 123 item number 152494. 

I chose one of the wood grain papers and,  since I was going over the top with texture; I chose to actually dry emboss this paper as well, using the Pinewood Planks 3-D embossing folder found on page 185 item number 152320. 

After I had embossed this, I grabbed a sponge and some Early Espresso ink and highlighted the raised areas by sponging them.

Next, I grabbed my Harvest Hellos bundle found on page 89 item number 150581. 

I stamped the Apple image in Momento Black ink and I coloured it with my Real Red and Granny Apple Green Stampin Blends. 

I punched out the apple using the coordinating punch, but then decided that I wanted to use my paper snips to trim the images so there was no white outline… 

Here’s a tip: I used a Basic Black marker around the edges of the apples to hide and to touch up any areas where you could see white. 

I took these apples, and once again went to my Stampin Cut and Emboss Machine (I call it BIG BOSS), and using my Subtle 3-D embossing folder item number 151775 found on page 185, to emboss the apples as well! 

Here is a couple of photo close-ups... hopefully you can see all the beautiful depth and texture in this card

 

For my greeting I stampeded the greeting using Momento Black ink on Whisper White card stock… then I simply grabbed my paper snips and cut the words apart. I glued these flat on the front of the card using Tombow glue.

I attached the apples to my card front glueing one flat, and popping the other one up with dimensionals.

I am really pleased with how this card turned out… The texture is over the top, and it’s a fun fold. too!
