I taught this card at my July Techniques Card Class.
This is a super messy but easy technique to do and involves a coffee filter! Who would think that a coffee filter would be used in card making!?
The colors featured in this card are Dapper Denim, Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Black....striking huh!?
If you would like to learn card making techniques like these....why not join the girls for one of my monthly card making techniques classes? Check my blog for more info or give me a call (204) 232-7744.

Happy Monday morning to you....and let's start the week off with me sending you some sunshine!
This is a cool card I taught in my July Techniques Card Class. It features the Ombre Water-Colored Background Technique.
To achieve this look you use an aqua painter and four ink colors that get progressively darker.
In this sample I started with Daffodil Delight ink and just painted a line at the top of the card.
For the next line I loaded my brush with Daffodil Delight ink and then picked up some Pear Pizzazz ink.
Now I cleaned my brush and did the next stripe in Pear Pizzazz.
For the next line I loaded my brush with Pear Pizzazz ink and then picked up some Bermuda Bay Ink.
Now I cleaned my brush and did the next stripe in Bermuda Bay.
For the next line I loaded my brush with Bermuda Bay ink and then picked up some Dapper Denim.
Now I clean my brush and did the final stripe in Dapper Denim.
While I waited for my background to dry I stamped and die cut my glasses and the word sunshine. I applied fine tip glue pen to the lenses to make them shiny...tip a thin layer dries much faster than a thick layer.

So I have seen these quick and easy Cheater Shaker Cards all over the internet...so I decided perhaps I should give one a try to see what all the hoopla was about.
Boy oh boy was I surprised....they are amazingly quick and easy to make and fun for the recipient to receive too!
I used the Celebrations Duo TIEF found on page 211 to emboss the greeting on a piece of Whisper White card stock.
Then I grabbed the circle image stamp from the coordinating Happy Celebrations stamp set found on page 34. I randomly stamped the circle images in Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Tempting Turquoise ink. Note that when you stamp on the embossed area that the greeting does not take the ink as it is depressed....cool huh.
When the ink was dry I simply slid the art piece inside a clear envelope....added some shaker mix and sealed the envelope on the back side. I folded the excess to the back and taped it secure. Then I added the greeting and bakers twine.
Finally I adhered the envelope to the front of a Tempting Turquoise card base.
Easy peasy and fun!
