PSSssst. . . Do You Want to Hear Some New Catalog Tidbits?

PSSssst. . .  Do You Want to Hear Some New Catalog Tidbits?

Early this morning, Stampin’ Up! released an online copy of the upcoming catalog to demonstrators in the US and Canada.

So, of course, I was  still up at 2 AM in the middle of the night, I started flipping through the new book to see what was in it.

Boy, was I not disappointed!!!  I kept sitting there going back over and over the beautiful pages of the new catalog. Wow!!

Since I was too enthralled with the new catalogue to go to sleep, I thought I’d write up a post to share some of my excitement with you!

Stampin’ Up’s policy won’t let me share product pictures or exact details yet, but I can describe what I’m loving and wanting!!!

-More Framelits!  I mean a lot more framelits!  You know how in the Occasions Mini there was the labels and hearts nesting framelits?  Well, watch for a super awesome flower (that has, I think, a matching stamp set) that nests as well as other great shapes.

-New Dies- very cool!

-A new mat pack!  I wondered why they were retiring this, but it is because they are making it better!  Can you say matching piercing outlines?  Guess, there is another thing on my wish list.

- New punches!  Yes, another of my downfalls (have you seen my wall of punches?) and there are multiple new punches including a great replacement for the current butterfly punch.  Plus, they have matching stamp sets- YEAH!!!!

-Fantastic looking scrapbooks!  They come with metal label holders on the end!! Plus, not only will we be getting your regular page protectors but now divided page protectors too!  I cannot wait to try out some new scrapping styles with these!!

-Embossing Folders- like chevron, and argyle and fancy fans- LOVE IT!!

-Edgelits- yep, we are getting more of these little beauties!

- Stamp Scrubber- bigger size!

- Paper Trimmer- very cool with added storage features

-Cardstock and Designer Series Papers- oh....you have got to see these!!!!   LOVE IT!!!!  I want them all!!!

And it wouldn’t be a new catalog without loads of  great new stamp sets, some returning favorites from past mini catalogs (hi Mixed Bunch! hi Bordering on Romance! hi awesome holiday sets!); and of course, the new In Colors as well.

I just ordered my three boxes of catalogs, so I have LOTS on hand for anyone who wants to purchase them on May 31 at my New Catalog Release Party and Retired Stamps Sale.

I will also have my preorder and will be able to show you some of the amazing new products and we will use one for a Make & Take!

I can’t wait to hear your reaction when you see them!   Cause I know you are going to be just as excited at the new stuff as I am!!

EEEKkkk , I gotta get some sleep, I have to be at work in 3 hours!!!!

Sample Projects from New Catalog

Now when it comes to new catalogs, as Demonstrators, we are not permitted to show you the new products prior to the release of the catalog....but we are allowed to show you cards etc that have been made with those products.

Currently, some lucky Stampin Up! Demonstrators, are on a reward trip to Disney World- yes they earned a FREE trip to Disney World by selling Stampin' Up! products!!!!!  How lucky are those girls!

Anyhow, they have shared some photos of projects that were on display, which happen to be made with items coming out in the new catalog on June 1.   I thought it would be great to share these projects with you.  I do not know who made these projects, so I cannot give them credit, but I assume that it was the Stampin' Up! staff at head office who made them for the Disney display.

If you pay very close attention to the details you will see lots of new items, colors, textures, embellishments, stamps etc.

Here they are:

Love the little banners.....and those images!!!

 Ohhhhhh how pretty:
More images I haven't seen before, and what about the colors:
Look really close at this ribbon and what about that texture:
Where did this shape come from?
Check out this shape and image:
Now here are a couple of great cards from a fellow Demonstrator in the USA, Emma Fewkes made today.  She has graciously allowed me to share them with you.ladyandthestamp.blogspot.com

Isn't this one cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!  LOVE IT!!!!!!!

Don't miss your chance to be the first to see the new catalog by attending my New Catalog Kick-off Party and Retired Stamp Sale on Thursday May 31 from 6-9.

Shel's Stampin' News- May 2012

Shel’s Stampin’ News                                                                                                May 2012

Boy oh boy, time seems to be zooming along!  ….seems like just yesterday I was compiling April’s newsletter!  A lot is going on right now, both with Stampin’ Up! and myself.

Personally, I am heavy into spring cleaning ( arrgh!), so what with working full time and trying to get my spring cleaning done bit by bit, and my classes, time is zooming along.  This past weekend I got all my cupboards cleaned out and wiped down, and purged a bunch of stuff that was just sitting there. Awful chore, but feel much better now that it is done! Now I am working on windows ( arrgh!) and carpet cleaning.

On a happier note,  I also got some wonderful new drawers in my craft room for storage.  I saw these drawers and sliders at a yard sale across the street, and I offered them 15 bucks for five drawers (they wanted 5 bucks a drawer).  Well being as it was 4:35 pm and there sale was over at 5 they accepted my offer and my wonderful hubby made a cabinet for them to go into and now I have beautiful storage under my work table!  Yeah!!
Gotta love storage!!

Ok, enough of my babbling, on to Stampin’ Up matters!   Here we go:

Shoebox Swap-
THIS IS YOUR INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE!

This is a NO COST event- and a TON of fun!
You get to enjoy a couple of hours with the girls and go home with a bunch of different cards for your stash!

Here’s how it works:

1. You contact me and let me know you are going to join the swap. I will let you know how many people are going to be participating in the swap. All I need to know is which stamp set you will be using ( as we don’t want to duplicated) (Note that if you do not have Stampin’ Up! product but still wish to participate in the swap, it can be any brand of products)

2. You design a simple card (any occasion) that can be put together in 10-15 minutes from start to finish. All items needed for the card must fit inside the box. ( If your card design requires embossing with the Big Shot, you will have to pre-emboss it, as everything needed for the card must fit inside the shoebox)

3. You get a shoe box and put all the ingredients to make the card (stamp, ink, block, punch, precut cardstock, any tools, bling, ribbon etc) inside the box. I suggest that each packet of cardstock needed for one person be put inside a ziplock to contain the pieces. Envelopes are NOT required.

4. On the day of the swap you bring your box and the box gets handed around to each participant. They follow your sample and make one of the cards you designed. When they are done they put all the supplies back in the box and hand the box to the next person.

5. This is a fun social time with the girls, you get to create cards and add to your stash of cards, and show others your card design, while making their designs.

6. The number of cards you end up with depends on the number of participants. If there are only a few participants we may want to each do two shoeboxes…but we can discuss that later once we see who is interested..

7. As always, I will have tea (reg and decaf), coffee, water for all participants.

Let me know if you want to participate and join the fun…this event will be held on Saturday May 12th at my place- 10 am

Seating is limited so this will be on a first come first serve basis. If I get a lot of interest I will host a second swap to accommodate.

Mini Dry Erase Board- 3D Samples

Here is a really neat idea that I put together during this month's FREE CROP.

It is a mini dry erase board!  All you do is get an acrylic frame from the dollar store.  Create a background and insert it into the frame....add a bit of decoration on the outside to make it pop,,,,and voila!  How easy is that?

The girls and I had a blast on Saturday!  And our potluck lunch was YUMMY- thanks to all for all the goodies you brought!

If you would like to join us at Free Crop next month, all you have to do is attend one of my regular classes, and then tell me to reserve you a seat at Free Crop.  Then you bring your own supplies and projects to work on, bring something to contribute to the potluck lunch and just join in the fun!
