Because there have been so, so many changes, promotions, and time sensitive things with Stampin’ Up lately, I have decided to change how I do a few things, in effort to keep you better informed and so you have easier access to information.

  My Blog:  www.shelscreativecorner.blogspot.com also has some big changes. 

A.  You will see at the top of the page, that there is a new tab entitled “Promotions and Sales.” This is the area where I will keep all the information about current sales and promotions, and the date when they end.  Once they end, they will be removed. 

B.  You will see at the top of the page, that there is a new tab entitled “Newsletters”.   I will store the last newsletter in this location for easy access in case you want it.

Color Refresh I wanted to take a minute to once again remind you of Stampin' Up! decision to rejuvenate their color lineup.  This means we are losing ten colors from our four main color families.  Here are the colors that are retiring: 

 What does this mean to you?  Well, this means that if you want paper, ink, ribbon, markers - anything in these colors you should order it NOW....cause once it is gone, it's gone...only available while supplies last. 

Now for the good news....what colors are coming in to replace these ones?  

 Yes, we have some returning favorites and a brand new never seen before color too!  Love that smoky slate...we needed a lighter, softer gray.....I am not so sure of the crushed curry...too close to the summer starfruit for my tastes...these will be available June 1 in the new catalog!

Recycling With Stampin' Up!- Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder

The pool party center of the flower and the pool party and wisteria wonder printed piece are part of the packaging for the advertisement that came with our latest Stampin' Success Magazine! 

Now I never would have thought to put these two colors together....but I quite like them.  

The butterfly is from the Best of Butterfly stamp set and stamped with Illuminate ink- it is hard to see the glimmer in this photo.   

The greeting is from the Curly Cute stamp set and embossed with white embossing powder. 

The flower was made using the Blossom Punch and the Simply Scored. I used dazzling details to give it a bit of glitter.

This was a fun one! 

Saturday Showcase- Graphic 45 for April

This is the third and final page we made in April's scrapbooking class.  

It is the continuation in our journey with a year of Graphic 45.  

This is a great series of paper.  And hopefully our winter is coming to an end in Manitoba, cause we could surely use some spring weather!

Scrappin' Friday

This is the second page we made in April's scrapbooking class.

We used Kiwi Lane templates and inked the edges to make them pop.  The title was made with the Big Shot and the Typeset Alphabet dies page 192 item#127553. 

This is a great way to use up some of your scraps. 

The children in this page are my three grandkids- Brielle, Noah and Richard.

Stampin’ Up! will be posting their Retiring Stamp List on April 24^th.   I thought it would be fun throw together a  contest for my customers ( I got this idea from fellow demonstrator Barb M.- she has been doing this for seven years now! )

 To participate in this fun contest, all you need to do is thumb through your annual catalog and choose 12 stamp sets that you think will be on the retirement list. Note that hostess sets and mini catalog sets do not count.  The person with the most correct on their list will WIN!

Email me your list no later than midnight on Aprill 22^nd, 2013. 

The winner will receive an awesome ribbon cutting/sealing tool called I-Magicut Ribbon.  It is a battery operated tool that heats up to quickly and cleanly cuts and seals the ends of your ribbon so there is no fraying!

In the event that there is a tie, the names will be put into a draw and a winner will be chosen by Random Generator.

Ribbon Storage

I love using ribbon . . . and I even love just looking at it! That’s why—when thinking of a way to store my ribbon—I wanted it to be a part of my desk décor. When I saw these shelves at Ikea, I knew that they would be perfect. Not only is each individual spool easily accessible, but it is also inspiring to look at.


The shelves are only about 3" deep, so Stampin’ Up! ribbon fits perfectly. (All of our ribbon  comes on the same size spool, which makes this type of ribbon storage work very well.)


I just love the splash of color that the ribbon adds to my desk.

Masculine Monday- a scrapbook page

Here is something new for Masculine Monday- a scrapbook page this week instead of a card! This is the first page we made in April's scrapbook class.

This is a picture of my son at basic training...just prior to going to Afghanistan.  

This page features tone on tone title with the exception of the word you.  The white gel pen added stitching around the photo and highlights to the word you....military life sure makes a young man grow up very quickly. I am so proud of his bravery and of all the lives he helped save while in Afghanistan.  

Thank heavens he came back safe and sound and is on Canadian soil once again.

Love the different textures and the continuous theme of squiggly zig zag lines in both the borders, the frame and the designer series paper.

SCRAPPIN FRIDAY- SEWING

THIS IS THE THIRD OF THREE PAGES WE MADE IN MARCH SCRAPBOOKING CLASSES. 

IT FEATURES CIRCLES PUNCHED FROM MY SCRAP BIN AND GLUED TO THE CARDSTOCK. 

THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO THIN OUT THE SCRAP BIN WHEN YOU HAVE TOO MUCH SCRAP.

 THEN WE WENT TO THE SEWING MACHINE AND STITCHED OVER TOP OF THE CIRCLES....I KNOW IT WAS SCARY....BUT IT WENT FINE.

 THIS IS MY GRANDDAUGHTER BRIELLE HAMMING IT UP FROM THE CAMERA- AGE 1 1/2 YEARS.
