From the "waste" comes a thing of beauty. . . and a tip!

Remember yesterday I told you I was going to show you what I made from the waste from yesterday's card.....well this is it!

I took the waste piece of whisper white where I had cut out the flourish for yesterdays card, and used the negative cutout by layering it on colored card stock.  No waste!

Here is a close up again of these two GREAT bundles!

Seriously check out these greetings.....oh yes and I have a tip for you......if you purchase the banner set....stamp your banners on vellum....cut them out with the dies and store them in your stamp case.
That way you can increase the versatility of these banner dies by using them with other stamp sets.....simply place the vellum image over other greetings to ensure they will fit!

3 Techniques: Watercolor Smooshing Technique ,Baby Wipe Mask Technique, and Heat Embossing. . .

Today I have a triple technique card to share with you.

Before I get started....I must confess that some of the supplies I used on this card are not Stampin' Up! ....but don't shoot me....sometimes a girl has to play with other toys- LOL!

Ok back to my card.

The first technique was what I call Watercolor Smooshing.

I took three ink pads, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Sweet Sugarplum and smooshed some color down onto my craft mat.  Next I spritzed the mat with water...quite a bit maybe ten sprays.  I then floated the color from the mat onto my card stock by dipping the card stock repeatedly to pick  up the colors.

Once this dried completely ( I used heat tool cause I am not a patient gal) I went on with my second technique.

The second technique is what I call Baby Wipe Masking.

I applied a plastic mask ( I chose chicken wire design) and then daubed a babywipe over the openings in the mask.  Where the babywipe hits it removes some of the color leaving the mask pattern.

How cool is this!

Finally I added heat embossing as my final technique and stamped the greeting in versamark and heat embossed using black embossing powder.

I decided to grab my Sweet Sugarplum marker and fill in the larger outlined letters on the stamp.

I thought the card needed a little something so I grabbed my bow punch and added a black bow!
