With Sympathy . . .Faux Stitching Technique

I made this card on the weekend.  I noticed my sympathy cards supply were lacking, and I always want to have my sympathy cards ready to go...I never like to make a sympathy card when I am sad and upset. 

Now I hope I never have to use these cards, but reality is reality, you have to have them on hand.  

I normally try to use neutral tones when making sympathy cards, but I changed this one up a bit....I chose Old Olive and Whisper White for my color scheme.  

The card base is a standard 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
The white art piece is cut with the largest framelit from the Banner Framelits. 

Then I grabbed my Project Life Journalling Pen and created a faux stitched border around the banner.  

Next I stamped the leaf image from the Crazy About You stamp set using Old Olive Ink.  

I grabbed my Project Life Journalling Pen again and added a bit of detail to the leaves. 

A quick greeting stamped with Memento Black ink and a few green toned sequins completes this card.  

What do you think....ok with Old Olive or should I have stuck with neutral tones?

Sheltering Tree & Friendly Wishes says it all...A

Here is a quick and easy card I made using the tree image from the  Sheltering Tree stamp set.  The greeting is from Friendly Wishes stamp set.

I stamped the images in Early Espresso ink directly on to a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Serene Scenery DSP Stack  cut at 4" by 5 1/4".

A quick knot bow with some Early Espresso ribbon finishes this simple art piece off nicely.

Then I matted it onto an Early Espresso  standard card base cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4".

Falling Flowers. . .

This is another card kit that I found last weekend while cleaning....however I changed up the stamp set for some coloring fun!

The Basic Black card base was 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
The Pear Pizzazz mat layer was 5 1/4" x 4"
The Whisper White art piece was 5" x 3 3/4"

I randomly stamped images from the Falling Flowers stamp set  using Memento Black ink all over art piece.  

Then I grabbed some copic markers and got to coloring. 

A quick greeting from the Wild About Flowers stamp set, a quick bow and I was done!

Much better to have a card ready to give than a pile of precut cardstock laying in a baggie- LOL!

Leftover Loveliness. . .Remarkable You.. . .

I was cleaning in my craft studio on the weekend and came upon some leftover card kits from days gone by.  

Well they were just too pretty not to assemble into cards.  

I ended up with three of these beauties after all my paper piecing was done.  

I decided not to put greetings on them now....they are beautiful on their own or I can add a quick greeting to the outside depending on what occasion I decide to use it for. 

This leaf image is from the Remarkable you stamp set.....the dsp is retired. 

I stamped the image on the card front as well as onto DSP scraps.  Then I cut out the leaves and glued them to the image on the card front.....a little time consuming but well worth it!

Sunburst Saying Card. . .

I had a few scraps laying about last week and decided to use them up.....this is what I came up with.  I used the Starburst Thinlet found on page 193 of the Annual Catalog and paired it with a greeting from the coordinating Sunburst Sayings stamp set found on page 99.  

This card could be used for a multitude of occasions....but I wanted a masculine card that I could uses for an appreciation card.....the inside sentiment says "you're the best" 

Crisp Fall Day. . . how about a fall themed color challenge. . .

Week of Christmas. . . Card Five. . . Jar of Cheer. . .

And today is the final card in my week of Christmas series...   This card features the Jar of Cheer stamp set found on page 25 of the Holiday Catalog. 

The Layering Ovals Framelits were a wonderful addition to this card and can be found on page 193 of the Annual Catalog. 

The colors used here were Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron......different choices for Christmas cards! 

Week of Christmas. . . Card Four. . . Jolly Friends Bundle. . .

This card features a fun new stamp set called Jolly Friends found on page 29 of the Holiday Catalog.  It is part of a bundle that includes the new Jolly Hat Builder Punch.  Also on that same page are the Mini Jingle Bells.  

The DSP is from the Warmth and Cheer DSP stack found on page 13 of the Holiday Catalog.  The greeting is from the Peaceful Pines stamp set on page 28 of the Annual Catalog. 

Week of Christmas. . . Card Three. . . Christmas Pines and Cable Knit TIEF. . .

Day Three of Week of Christmas features a card I made using the Christmas Pines bundle found on page 19 of the Holiday Catalog along with the new Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder found on page 13 of the Holiday Catalog. 

I cannot express enough HOW MUCH I LOVE this embossing folder.....it is amazing.....it has a 3D effect......a definate WOW!  

Week of Christmas....Card Two....Star of Light....

This is my second card for my week of Christmas series. 

It is a glistening beauty that features the Star of Light stamp set found on page 9 of the Holiday catalog. 

To create this card I stamped the swirly images using Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The remaining images were also stamped with Versamark ink but were heat embossed using silver embossing powder. 

Small rhinestones were added to the center of each flower.....and the shimmery sparkle of the glimmer paper all around the outside makes this card special! 

Week of Christmas. . . Card One. . . Baby Bear. . .

Here is a card I created for one of my Christmas Card classes.  It features the new Baby Bear stamp set found on page 61 of the Annual Catalog. 

This stamp set is a three step stamp....the image was stamped in Crumb Cake ink, then some of the detail was stamped in Soft Suede ink, and finally the last detail stamp in Early Espresso ink....and this stamp set is so versatile. . . it comes with an assortment of greetings that will work for such occasions as baby (of course) thank you, love you, and wedding. 

Here I used the greeting from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set found on page 6 of the Holiday Catalog to make the banner greeting and used the new Duet Banner punch found on page 186 of the Annual Catalog....which easily makes this bear into a Christmas card!
