Technique Thursday...

 Today I have a trio of techniques for you in one card! 

First off let me show you my card:

The primary technique I wanted to share with you is the watercolor leaves technique....but, I added in heat embossing, and dry embossing,  for some added wow.

How You Can Make It

Measurements: 

Card Base: Night of Navy: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2

Focal Layer: Night of Navy: 3 3/4 x 5 

Leaves:  Watercolor Paper

Card Liner: Basic White: 3 3/4 x 5 

Supplies: 

Spledid Autumn Bundle

Embossing Buddy

Gold Embossing Powder

Heat Tool

Night of Navy Ink Pad

Real Red Ink Pad

Crushed Curry Ink Pad

Pecan Pie Ink Pad

Waterbrush

Blooming Pearls (gold)

Instructions: 

1. Wipe the watercolor paper with embossing buddy. 
2. Stamp the leaf images 5 times using Versamark ink. 
3. Add gold embossing powder and heat set. 
4. Watercolor leaves using waterbrush and Real Red, Crushed Curry and Pecan Pie ink.  Remember ink dries lighter so you may want to do it a couple of times, depending on how vivid you want your leaves.  
5. Set aside to dry or dry with heat tool
6. Emboss the front of the card using your favorite embossing folder. 
7. Fold the card base on the score  line and burnish it flat using bone folder. 
8. Add the Basic White card liner to the inside panel. 
9. Stamp the wheat image on the focal panel using Night of Navy ink pad
10. Wipe the panel using embossing buddy. 
11. Stamp the greeting using Versamark ink.
12. Add gold embossing powder.  Remove any stray embossing powder flecks and then heat emboss.  
13. Attach the focal panel to the card front using dimensional. 
14. Die cut the leaves and add to the card front using a combination of tombow and dimensional. 
15. Embellish with gold pearls.

Creative Challenge for November

Finding similar products to create with is fun, but what about trying to make products work together that weren’t designed with coordination in mind?  This month’s creative challenge is a product mash-up: use one product from the November Online Exclusives release and either the September–December 2024 Mini Catalog or the 2024–2025 Annual Catalog. We decided to pair the Peaceful Season and Happy Hibiscus Bundles—with spectacular results. (If you live where the winters are warm and tropical flowers are abundant during the Christmas season, we think this card will be on your CASE list for sure!) To create this festive project, we used Regal Winter Designer Series Paper and Basic White, Crushed Curry, and Pretty Peacock Cardstock. We stamped the “Happy Christmas” sentiment and leaves in Garden Green ink and the flowers in Melon Mambo, then colored the leaves and flowers using Stampin’ Blends. (Ink colors are Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, Petal Pink, Pretty In Pink, Pretty Peacock, and Shaded Spruce.)

Cling Stamp Set Inventory Disruption

October 31

We are experiencing a supply disruption in the red rubber used to make our cling stamp sets, which is delaying product production. 

We’re working closely with our supplier to make this interruption as short as possible. 

Currently, we don’t have an exact date the matter will be resolved, but we’ll share that information with you as soon as it becomes available.

Regal Winter 6x6 One Sheet Wonder....

 Last night's Stamp With Shel video tutorial was a One Sheet Wonder using 6x6 DSP to make three cards.

I showed you how to make three quick and easy cards using just one piece of 6x6 designer series paper with zero waste!

As I shared in my video, when I make these I use computer paper to figure things out...I shared this template that I made for these cards: 

I keep the card template, the DSP cutting guide and the instructions.  I clip them together and keep them in my one-sheet-wonder shoe box.  

That way when I am lacking creativity in the future I can pull out the template and recreate it using different papers and stamps! 

Here are the three cards I made during the video using the Regal Winter products found on page 35 of the Mini Catalog.

Now my challenge to you is use the template and instructions to create your own cards with products you own.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!  Suggestion: Sympathy cards.

Cards from Technique Tuesday ...

 

On Tuesday I did a Facebook Live where I shared the Cut and Flip Technique.  

This is a simple technique that creates quick and easy yet gorgeous cards.

For this first card, I used Pretty In Pink DSP  with Pretty In Pink, Basic Black, and Basic White.  I love how this one POPS!  

Tip:  When choosing your DSP make sure that the patterns on both sides will be going in the correct direction BEFORE you cut.  

You can see from the above card that one side of the DSP was non-directional and the other was striped so it easily worked for the cut-and-flip technique. 

This next card was a bit different...I modified the sizes of the "DSP" because I chose to use Reindeer Days Memories and More cards in place of DSP. 

Tip:  Always think outside the box....think of alternate ways you can replicate what someone has done. 

This final card was made using the Season of Green and Gold 12x12 DSP and Gold Foil. This is SO BEAUTIFUL!

Now my challenge to you is to make a cut and flip card and share it with me.  Here are the sizes.

Memory Keeping—Albums

Have you ever made an album with an envelope? All you need is notecard-sized envelopes, patterned paper, and a touch of creativity! To build the album, fold the envelope flap back to give the crease a bit more flexibility, and slip it into the opening of another envelope, facing down. Use adhesive to adhere the flap more securely (we used Stampin’ SEAL+). You can fancy it up by attaching patterned paper to cover the envelope pocket. Repeat these steps with as many envelopes as you wish (we did five!). You can then decorate the inside layout to reflect the memories you would like to keep. Once you are finished adding envelopes, wrap the flap from the first album around all envelopes smoothly and adhere to last envelope on the outside. This can be covered up with patterned paper to hide the flap.
