Dazzling Details- new product alert

On page 41 of the Holiday Mini catalog, Stampin' Up! has introduced yet another new product...Dazzling Details.

This is an irridescent glitter glue that will add sparkle to any project with less mess!

It has a narrow tip that allows for precise application.

Of course, it is non-toxic and acid free; and at just $3.25 it is an awesome addition to your crafting.

Texturz Plates tips

Stampin' Up! has several texturz plates available on page 219 of the Idea Book and Catalog. These are double sided plates for twice the value.

These plates are used to create subtle patterns and designs on thin surfaces, to give your project a delicate embossed background.

My tip for this is to mist your cardstock with alcohol prior to running it through the Big Shot.  This slightly weakens the surface of the cardstock giving a sharper embossed image.

Try it- it works!

Have you ever had your cardstock curl up after you have heat embossed an image?

This can be frustrating and make it difficult to adhere to the card base.

Well this quick and oh so easy tip will help you out....

Holiday Mini- My Top Ten Favorite Picks!

Holiday Mini Catalog- My Top Ten Favorites

The 2011 Holiday Mini is packed with amazing stamp sets and gorgeous Designer Series Papers!

What makes this Mini special for me, is the introduction of a new tools in addition to new products.
These are investment purchases (non consumables like punches, dies, tools) you buy once and then reap the benefits of those purchases for years to come.

1.  Simply Scored paper scoring tool.   It is a wonderful, and much needed, addition to the Stampin' Up! product line.  It has many features -The biggest feature for me is the ability to score 12 x 12 paper every 1/8''.

Other products on the market limit the score lines to what the manufacturer deems the necessary score points. But I own serverak of these "other manufacturer" products and not all projects fit into their tool guidelines.

Another feature is the ability to place markers at the top of the pad to identify a specific measurement when you are making multiples of a scored project. These markers can be stored neatly in a compartment along the top of the device. Three markers are included with the Simply Scored and addition packets are available. The metal tipped stylus locks in place on the surface for easy access!

2.  Bigz Stocking Die- You can make fun holiday stockings from paper, cardsotock, fabric, felt and more!  Perfect for all your holiday crafts or to create a holiday garland.  Stocking measures 5 1/2" x 4 3/4" and can be used with standard cutting pads

3.  Stitched Stockings Stamp Set- Awesome little stamps to create wonderful cards and decorations for the holiday season.  Coordinates with the stocking builder punch. Available in wood or clear mount.

4.  Stocking Builder Punch- Create little stockings for gift tags, cards or scrapbook pages with this builder punch. Coordinates with Stitched Stocksings stamp set as well as the stocking image in the Gift Givers stamp set.

5.  Gently Falling Stamp Set is an awesome two step stamp set.  The leaf images are perfect for all your fall and thanksgiving card giving. Available in wood mount or clear mount.

6.  Hand Penned Holidays Stamp Set is a classy addition to your greeting stamps.  Available in wood mount or clear mount.

7.  Cellophane Bags- measuring just 1" x 8" these little bags are perfect for little halloween or craft fair treats.

8.  The Sounding Joy Stamp Set - this is another classy additon to your greeting stamps.  The bonus is that if you layer two of the greetimgs your card requires no other images.  Available in wood mount or cling mount.

9.  Festive and Fun Stamp Set- this is an awesome set if you are new to stamping and want a multipurpose holidays set.  It has three images and greetings combined- one for Halloween,
one for Christmas and one for Valentines.  Available in both wood mount and clear mount.

10.  Card Keeper Box- this is a heavy duty chipboard box that is white in color. You can personalize it with designer series paper, or leave it plain.  It has a silver metal label holder and six dividers to easily organize your different occasion cards.   Awesome way to keep your cards organized, clean and protected.

Honorable Mention

Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps are a brand-new product that will appeal to crafters and non-crafters, alike--not to mention kids! The easy-to-use cookie stamp has a solid wood handle with three interchangeable stamp images: a heart, a jack-o-lantern, and a snowflake.

Just make your favorite shortbread cookie dough (or one of the two included recipes) and stamp away! Create beautiful, hand-stamped cookies in a flash. The stamp images are completely food-safe and child-friendly. These delectable items will be available October 1st!

Blender Pen Trick

I want to share a little trick with you.

Have you ever wanted to use just part of a stamp, but did not want to bother coloring the image with markers.

So I learned a little trick that will help you out.

Grab the stamp you want and the ink pad.  Load the stamp with ink as you normally would.  Then just grab your blender pen and "erase" the area you do not want to be inked.   Voila!

Blender pens are on page 203 item #102845 and are just  $12.95 for a three pack.

Smooch

Have you tried Smooch or Smooch Spritz?

Smooch is a pearlized ink that adds color and shine.  It works similar to acrylic paint, and has an applicator similar to a nailpolish brush.  You paint on your stamp instead of inking it.  Shake well before using.

Personally I like to use a line image and versamark and black embossing powder.  Then I like to paint the color inside the raised embossing.

Smooch Spritz is a fine spray of the same product as above. It quickly adds shine and color to cardstock, paper. chipboard, wood, fabric, acrylic and more.  Since it is similar to the ink in metallic ink pads, it gives a different look than spritzing with classic ink. Works great with stencils.  Shake well before using.
