This year, I have added a new card class to my line-up, called Stamp Set of the Month Card Class. 

Each month I will choose a stamp set, and design a class of four cards using that set.  It is designed to show you the versatility of the sets. This class will be held on Saturdays.

For January 2014, I chose the new set entitled "Petite Petals" from the Occasions Mini catalog.

Happy Together.....

 This layout features a great pic of our dear friends John & Dorothy.  Quite the photogenic pair!  

I had seen these flowers online, and wanted to try them for myself.  All I can say is TIME CONSUMING!  
They are not hard to make, just time consuming....each flower takes 8 punched circles....so on this layout I had to punch and fold 48 circles. ....But I must say I love the look of the flowers.  

Here is the stamped background closeup....I used the Creative Elements stamp set.

Here is the page title, stamped from A Dozen Thoughts stamp set.  The flower is the new Petite Petals punch.

Here is a closeup of one of the flowers.  You take 7 circles and fold them in thirds.  Then you glue them to the 8th circle.  The brad is from the Stampin' Up! antique brads collection. 

Banner Love....

 This layout was designed for my January scrapbooking class.  It features a big mixture of different product brands....but is a fun and colorful layout. 

My goal was to thin down my scrap bin....and this layout sure helped alot....every element on this layout was from the scrap bin, with the exception of the background cardstock. 

The smiling faces in this photo are my youngest son Jesse and my daughter in law Lianne. 

I used my new Stampin' Up! banner framelits to create the flag banner.   Stampin Up! buttons and candy dots complete the banner. Here is a closeup of the banner:

The Stampin' Up! blossom punch makes great flowers for paper crafting:

And the layout title was easy peasy to make with the Stampin' Up! Expression Thinlet dies: 

Oh, I almost forgot....the journal tag..... it was made with a piece of scrap cardstock and the new Tag Topper Punch in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini catalog.  This is great because you can make the length of the tag any size you want!

January 2014 Scrapbooking Class- Diamonds & Misting.....

This layout is made with photos from a long time ago....the year after I first moved to Winnipeg, my youngest stepson Justin was just four years old in this layout....and he is sixteen now!  

The kids in the top row are my stepsons, Justin (youngest) Devon (middle) and Jason (eldest).  Aren't they cute! The adults at the bottom is my dear hubby Mike, his Step-Mother, Carole; and his Father, Andy.

This was a weekend camping trip in Beausejour MB- we had bright sunny weather and a great time....until Saturday night when the heavens opened up and our tent leaked like a sieve!  

The next morning we were all soaked to the skin, all our clothes and bedding was soaked- and our children were green- literally.  Their sleeping bags were green colored, and when they got wet the dye stained their skin.  

We sure looked funny packing our stuff up in the pouring rain and taking the kids into town to the laundromat to dry some clothes for them.....green martians sighted in Beausejour MB- ha ha ha!

I used the new triangle punch from the new Occasions Catalog to create the diamond pattern. 

The top third of the page was masked with a bubble mask and misted with homemade spritz made from alcohol and Stampin' Up! reinkers- cool ! Here is a closeup: 

The cute little flower embellishments were made with the new Petite Petals punch and a pearl.  Here is a closeup: 

Now I know many people would say that pink and red are not colors for a "guy" layout....but I think this one works....what do you think?

The fourth and final card from my January card classes.....featuring new stamp set called "Language of Love"

I love the Bermuda Bay and Pink Pirouette colors together!  

The embossing folder is also new- it is called Arrows.

I love the watercolor spotch stamp....makes a quick, simple yet colorful card....and the best thing is that I used up scraps for the butterflies.

This card was a class favorite this month.  

The new Hardwood stamp set is in a word AMAZING.  The crisp image and detail is unbelievable.  

And add the cute little owls made with the owl punch and this card was a winner!

New Catalog Kick off Party....

Last week I held my new catalog kick off party.  

This was a time where my customers and any one else who was curious could drop by, check out the new products, get their free catalog, play some games, do a make and take, and enjoy some refreshments. 

As always,these kick off parties are a ton of fun!

Then I give them a card kit and all the supplies needed....and they have to make the card blindfolded.  This is a riot.....my house was filled with tons of glggles and laughter- and there was glue and ink everywhere!  So much fun!
