A Happy Surprise ....out of my comfort zone...

TODAY'S CARD:

I recently decided I would try Heat Embossed Vellum Technique.

You stamp your image on vellum with Versamark ink and then add white embossing powder and heat set.  Then from the back side you color the image with Stampin' Blends.

Frankly I have always been nervous when working with vellum.

In the past I have burnt it whenever I tried heating it; and had a terrible time when adhering it to cards because my adhesive ALWAYS showed through the vellum.   Well NOT THIS TIME!!

I purchased Stampin Up vellum and it is a sturdy weight vellum that I found to take the heat tool beautifully.

I did heat up the tool prior to embossing.
I did not put the tool too close to the vellum.
I did keep the tool moving at all times and I had no problems.

Yay!

When it came to adhering it to the dsp mat I used mini dimensionals cut in half and place on the white embossing like behind the tiny flowers, behind the leaves and thick parts of the stem and behind the ribbon and tag.

Yay!
