June 7, 2019...Rooted In Nature and a Quilt Top Card. . .

This is a fun card I made using the paper piecing technique.

Basically, it is just piecing and gluing squares of dsp to a piece of cardstock forming a pattern.

Then you cut the excess pieces off the side when you are done.

I layered mine on different colored mats to make the colors pop.

The greeting and leaf embellishment are from the Rooted In Nature Stamp set #148217 found on page 148 of the new Annual Catalog. The coordinating Natures Roots dies are found on page 194.

My color palette is Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White.

An alternate thing you can do is once you get all your squares adhered you can dry emboss with the embossing folder of your choice to give it a quilted look.....or....I just thought of this one.....why not cut squares in solid cardstock assorted colors....and emboss each one with a different folder before you adhere.....that may be cool too!
