Tone on Tone with Painted Flowers...


My card today, features the Softly Sketched stamp set found on page 115 of the Annual Catalog.

This is a stand-alone (no dies or punch) stamp set. Here are the details:

How You Can Make It: 

Supplies

Softly Sketched stamp set
Coastal Cabana card stock
Basic White card stock
Orchid Oasis card stock
Orchid Oasis ink pad
Whisper White ink pad
small paint brush
Orchid Oasis metallic ribbon
Ombre Matte Decorative Dots
Adhesives- Tombow, Glue Dots

Measurements:

Card Base: Coastal Cabana 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 score 4 1/4
Card Mat: Orchid Oasis 4 x 5 1/4 
Card Stock Strip: 1 x 5 1/4
DSP Strip: 3/4 x 5 1/4 


Instructions:

  1. Fold the card base on the score line and burnish it flat with a bone folder. 
  2. Stamp the floral image using the Orchid Oasis ink pad
  3. Stamp the greeting using an Orchid Oasis ink pad
  4. Press the white ink pad on to silicone mat and add a drop of water.  Mix well with a paintbrush....paint the flowers and let them dry. Paint the flowers again if you want a darker white look. Note: alternately you can use a white pencil crayon and a blender pen to smooth or a white chalk marker
  5. Add DSP strip to Basic White card stock using Tombow. Glue to the focal layer
  6. Add Dimensionals to the back of the Orchid Oasis focal layer and add to the Coastal Cabana card base. 
  7. Embellish with ribbon and dots as desired. Here are some alternate samples using the Softly Sketched stamp set:
