All Geared Up To Celebrate. . .

This is a card we made in my Techniques class.....it features the Geared Up Garage bundle found on page 43 of the Occasions catalog.

This card was extremely hard to photograph due to the shine on the foils reflecting and trying to showcase the scored layer too.

Read through to the end for a bonus surprise!

The mat layer was scored to create depth and interest.

Here is a closeup of the distressed gears:

Now after I showed the gals how to create this card in class, I decided I was going to give it to my friend at his 60th birthday party......so I had to zazz it up inside to make it even more special....so this is what I did:

I created a greeting that pops out when you open the card.....and on the back side....a gift card holder!

And to finish it off a stamped and colored envelope to coordinate!

Want to learn how to make great cards and have enjoy the fun and friendship with the other girls.....come join us for a card class....we would love to have you join us.  Next class is Thursday March 18th at 6:30.....contact me before Saturday at noon if you want to join!

And now since you made it all the way to the end of this photo intense post.....a FREE tutorial for you:

A Two-fer with some creative cutting and other news. . .

These are some cards we made in one of my March Technique classes.....you do some special cutting to actually create two cards from the one embossed piece !

The folder is the Country Floral Embossing folder which will be carried over into the new annual catalog- YEAH!

The layers were all cut using the A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Stitched Rectangle dies found on page 28 of the Occasions catalog.  Clever cutting here is the key to not waste any paper.

I hope you enjoyed today's cards.  Want to learn to make fun cards like these?  Why not join the girls for and evening of friendship and fun at one of my card classes?  Here are my upcoming class schedules:

Don't forget to order your reinkers etc.....these are retiring soon....only available while supplies last:

Garden Impressions DSP.....

The GORGEOUS  Garden Impressions DSP is the star of the show in this card.
I paired it with Blueberry Bushel and Shaded Spruce card stock.  .

Here is a close up view of the flower that was made with the Four Petal Flower Punch and the Pop of Petals stamp set on page 47.  The flower center is a Faceted Gem from page 197.

Special Shaped card. . .

This is a super cute card we made in one of my March Technique Card Classes.

It features the Tea Together stamp set on page 49 of the Occasions Catalog and the Tea Together framelit dies that were a Sale-A-Bration freebie!

We stamped the teapot image first, and then die cut the image.  Then we ran it through the Country Floral embossing folder and colored the raised images with Stampin' Blend Alcohol Markers.

Next we folded a piece of cardstock and die cut it again omitting the fold

Finally we glued the teapot image to the shaped card base and voila!

Something Different....Stampin' Up stamps with actual watercolors ....

Today I wanted to share with you something very different.

For all three of these cards I stamped my images with Versamark ink on Stampin' Up! watercolor paper and then heat embossed them.

Then I grabbed a round paint brush and my tubes of watercolors and had some fun!  I love the depth and intensity of the colors!

The first card above, I was going for a dark stained glass effect....when completely dried I covered in versamark ink and then added clear embossing powder and heat set.

It is by far my favorite and although impossible to photograph is GORGEOUS in real life.  It is a glossy shine that is amazing.

The next card below was simply water-colored and dried. It is very pretty with a matte finish....but I wish I had clear embossed it before I put on the die cut.

And my final card was heat embossed with white embossing powder instead of black and water-colored.  When dry I added versamark ink and irredescent ice embossing powder-(this is retired but is a combination of clear embossing powder and dazzling diamonds glitter.....easy enough to make your own)
