Today I am once again hopping around the world, with all my crafty friends, for the Around The World on Wednesday Blog Hop.
Our theme for this hop is "Favorite Inspiration"
Whenever I am not feeling particularly inspired, my go-to is card sketches!
I find that once I have a sketch to get me started....I am on the right track again.
Here is the sketch I chose for today/s card:
And here is my card:
Now you will notice that I did not follow the sketch exactly. I put my top and bottom pieces of DSP under the center piece as I wanted the center piece to be more promininent. Also I put a mat layer behind my focal image.....to make it pop.
Here is a video tutorial for this card:
The stamp set that I used was the super cute new Hot Dog stamp set found on page 72 of the new J2J Mini Catalog, item#154497.....Here is a pic of that set:
Other products that I used for this card are:
Real Red card stock
Basic Black card stock
Whisper White card stock
Matte Black dots
Black Bakers Twine
Playful Pets DSP
Cinnamon Cider Stampin Blends
Daffodil Delight Stampin Blends
Daffodil Delight Stampin Write Marker
Real Red Stampin Write Maker
Dimensionals
Tombow
Now it is time to hop on over to the next blog for some more crafty fun:
I am popping by today to share with you a card I made for a friend who needed to be congratulated.
Here is my card:
To make my card I used my stamparatus and did the hinge step stamping technique.
I placed the congratulations stamp at the top left, and stamped in red ink. Then I removed the stamparatus plate and moved it down two notches on the hinge and reinked and stamped again. I repeated this one more time. That completed all the red greetings..
Next, I thoroughly cleaned my stamp and removed it from the plate and put the plate back in the starting position. I placed the stamp between the first two red greetings but to the far right. I inked with Memento Black ink.. and stamped. I moved the plate down two notches in the hinge and reinked and stamped again.....this completed the black greetings.
Next, I grabbed the sprinkles stamp from the new Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and added "confetti" to the card using Daffodil Delight, Gorgeous Grape, and Bermuda Bay.
I then used a Gorgeous Grape mat layer and a Basic Black card base. I love how celebratory and cheerful this card turned out!
Now, I have a challenge for you.....I want you to grab your stamparatus and try the hinge step stamping technique.....when you are done....take a pic and send it to me......
Everyone who sends me a card will get their cards posted on my blog. Your work and creativity will inspire others to get stamping and to try the hinge step stamping technique!
Here is a quick video showing stamparatus technique:
