Tutorial Thursday.....featuring Lasting Joy stamp set!

 Hey Hey, Stampers! 

Today I am sharing a simple card featuring the new Lasting Joy stamp set #161442 found on page 64.  

This is a super versatile stamp that has loads of greetings as well as versatile images!

I decided to go soft and simple for my card today.

Supplies: 

Basic White card stock

Soft Seafoam card stock

Soft Seafoam ink pad

Bubble Bath ink pad

Basic White bakers twine

Iridescent Pearl gems

Stylish Shapes dies

Adhesives: Tombow, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

SCEM machine

Paper Snips

Measurements: 

Card Base: Basic White 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 score 4 1/4

Basic White 4 1/4 x 5 1/2  for stamping & die cutting  Flowers/leaves/greeting tag

Large Circle: Soft Seafoam: 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 

Instructions: 

1. Fold the card base on the score line and then burnish it flat with a bone folder. 
2. Use Soft Seafoam ink with the leaf image and randomly stamp over the card front, changing direction and stamping off the edge
3. Use Bubble Bath ink with the image of the flowers, to fill in the front of the card.
4. Die cut the stitched circles. 
5. Stamp two flowers and two leaves and fussy cut
6. Stamp the greeting on the Basic White circle using Soft Seafoam ink. 
7. Layer the two circles together using Tombow. 
8. Add circles to the card front using Dimensionals
9. Embellish with fussy cut floral images, iridescent pearls, and a bow made from Basic White baker's twine.

First up a simple card using the dies from the Countryside Corners Suite on page 63 paired with the greeting from the Lasting Joy stamp set. 

Next up a cool-shaped card once again using the dies from the Countryside Corners suite and the greeting and images from the Lasting Joy stamp. 

And finally, an awesome embossed gift bag - the tag is created with the Lasting Joy stamp set. 

What's Up Wednesday.....Lazy Days Bundle....

Today I am sharing a few thank you cards I made.  The bundle I am featuring with these cards is the Lazy Days bundle found on page 19.

I tried something a little bit different with each of them/placement/accessories/stamping/inking,  just for a bit of variety and to see what I liked best.  Which is your favorite? 

It is fun to make mini cards....it is a change of pace, a breath of fresh air, something different.....and you get three bases from one sheet of cardstock!

Here is how you can make them: 

Supplies:

Crumb Cake card stock

Basic White card stock

Early Espresso card stock

Early Espresso ink pad

Crumb Cake ink pad

Balmy Blue ink pad

Lemon Lolly Stampin' Blends

Crumb Cake Stampin Blends

Rustic Metallic Dots

Adhesives- Dimensionals, Tombow

Basics Embossing Folder

2 3/8" circle punch

Blending Brush or sponge

Measurements: 

Card Base: Crumb Cake: 7 x 3 1/2

Card Liner: Basic White: 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 

Front Mat: Crumb Cake: 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 

Focal Image: Basic White: 2 3/8" circle punch

Chair: Early Espresso: 2 1/4 x 1 1/2

Greeting Tag: Crumb Cake: scrap

Instructions: 

1. Fold the card base on the score line and burnish it flat with a bone folder. 
2. Add a Basic White liner to the inside of the card. 
3. Emboss the front mat and then attach it to the card's front
4. Stamp the deck boards in Crumb Cake ink and stamp the table in Early Espresso ink. 
5. Color the deck and table with Stampin' Blends. 
6. Use a blending brush or a sponge to add some Balmy Blue ink to the sky
7. Die cut rocking chair from Early Espresso and attach to circle allowing some to hang off. 
8. Attach circle to the card front. 
9. Stamp greeting in Early Espresso ink on scrap Crumb Cake- attach to card front using Dimensionals. 
10. Embellish with gems.

This is where I got the idea for my card.....size, and layout.  I chose to emboss instead of stamp the mat layer. I chose to color my images and use an alternate color for the chair.  My greeting is much smaller and the same color as my card base. 

Shel's Tip:  use the images in your catalog as a starting point for your cards....that is why there are completed card images in the catalog....to inspire you.

I wanted to try to combine a new in-color with an existing core color, so I opted for a Wild Wheat, Night of Navy, and Basic White combo.  

What do you think?  Blue daisies?  Why not, I say! LOL!

Instructions: 

1. Fold the card base on the score line and burnish it flat with a bone folder. 
2. Add Basic White to the inside panel. 
3. Layer the DSP on the Basic White mat layer, then attach it to the front of the card as shown in the photo. 
4. Emboss the Basic White focal panel, then attach it to Night of Navy mat layer and attach it to the card as shown in the photo. 
5. Stamp daisy images and greeting on the Basic White panel. 
6. Die cut the images and crop out the greeting
7. Die cut the branches from the Night of Navy panel. 
8. Add a greeting to the leftover Night of Navy and crop out. 
9. Add branches to the card with Tombow
10. Add daisies to the card with Dimensionals. 
11. Add a greeting to the card with Dimensionals
12. Embellish with bow and gems

What's Happening This Week...Weekend Challenge Cards...Order Reminder...

 

Happy Monday Stampers!  

I hope you got outside and enjoyed the fabulous weather this past weekend!  I had my first beach day of the season and it was WONDERFUL! 

Since there is no water to the sites as yet, at our campground; we have very few people staying overnight yet....just day trippers.  Many people were out during the day mowing lawns, raking leaves, and getting their sites set up....but by 2 pm it was so quiet(and so hot)!  

My son Jesse and his bride-to-be stopped by for a visit and brought me a beautiful hanging basket for Mother's Day!  After they left, we decided it was time for our first trip to the beach.  We grabbed our wagon....added our beach chairs and a couple of beverages and off we went.  

It was so peaceful...serene....there was only one other couple on the other side of the beach.  One of my favorite things to do is sit at the beach with my hubby when it is quiet like that.  We have our best conversations in this setting....not sure why but we do.  It was a great day- serene beach...birds chirping, and chatting with my favorite person! 

I did not do any videos this weekend....Saturday it was impossible due to the noise, as well as Sunday morning.....and I decided I was going to enjoy my Mother's Day and do what I wanted....visit with my kids and go to the beach with my hubby.  

Now, reality strikes and I am back to work and hoping that this week passes quickly as next weekend is a long weekend.  Yay!
