Celebrating Sale-A-Bration with the Stampin' Hop Blog Hop- Trusty Toolbox 12x12 DSP

Today I am participating in the Stampin' Hop with my creative friends.

Our challenge this month was "Celebrating Sale-A-Bration".

Here is my card:

I chose the Trusty Toolbox 12 x 12 DSP from Sale-A-Bration for my card today.

Did you know that this paper coordinates perfectly with the Trusty Tools bundle!  Buy the bundle get the coordinating DSP for FREE!

The red and gray stripe DSP is one of the papers, and  all the tools were cut from the paper as well!

How You Can Make It:
Supplies:

Trusty Toolbox 12 x 12 DSP
Basic Gray card stock
Basic Black card stock
Basic White card stock
Pretty Peacock card stock
assorted embossing folders
Stylish Shapes Dies
Circle Punches
Memento Black ink
Paper snips
Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive
Stampin' Dimensionals

Measurements:

Card Base: Basic Gray: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 score 4 1/4
Mat Layer: DSP: 5 1/4 x 4
DSP Layer: 5 1/8 x 3 7/8
Assorted size circles (4)
Focal Circle: Basic White: 3"

Instructions

1.  Fold the card base on the score line and burnish it flat using a bone folder.
2.  Add the DSP layer to the Basic Black Mat layer with Tombow.
3.  Add the mat layer to the card front with Tombow.
4.  Punch/ die-cut all circles. Emboss the colored ones with the embossing folders of your choice.
5.  Now take a moment to dry fit your card pieces so you know where you want the placement. Once you have this figured out attach the colored circles to the card front with Tombow.
6.  Stamp a greeting on the stitched circle using Memento Black ink.  Tip: I curved my photopolymer stamp on the block to fit the curved shape of the stitched circle.
7.  Fussy cut the tools from the DSP and attach them to the focal circle.
8.  Add the focal circle to the center of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Note that I did not add any ribbon/twine/embellishment. Since this is a guy card I opted to just emboss the circles for added depth/texture/interest. If you want an embellishment, I might suggest the Classic Matte Dots in black.

Now please hop along and check out the fabulous projects from my creative friends:

Notes of Nature: Collage Technique for the Monochromatic Instagram Hop...and IMPORTANT NEWS...

Today my creative friends and I are participating in a Monochromatic Instagram Hop.

I thought I would share my card here in hopes that you will pop over to Instagram and see all the cards in our hop!

Our challenge was to make a monochromatic card using the color Wild Wheat!

I chose the Collage Technique and the Notes of Nature Bundle for my card today.

Here is my card:

Here is a quick peek at the bundle:

And here is the inside of my card:

How You Can Make It:

Supplies

Notes of Nature Bundle
Wild Wheat card stock
Very Vanilla card stock
Nature's Sweetness DSP
Something Fancy Dies
23-25 In-Color Dots
Wild Wheat ink pad
Wild Wheat Textured Ribbon

Measurements

Card Base: Wild Wheat: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 score 4 1/4
Card Liner: Very Vanilla: 4 x 5 1/4
Front DSP: Nature's Sweetness: 4 x 5 1/4
Focal Image:  Very Vanilla: 3 1/4 x 4 1/2
Hexagon: Wild Wheat: 2x2
Greeting Tag:  Very Vanilla: 2x2

Instructions:

1.  Add the leftover DSP strip to the bottom of the message panel and then attach it to the inside of the card.
2.  Burnish the score line on the card base so it is nice and flat.
3.  Add the DSP panel to the front of the card.
4.  Load all the image stamps from the bundle onto acrylic blocks. Have a piece of scrap paper ready as some of the images you will stamp full strength, some will be stamped off once, and others will be stamped off twice.  This will give your collage a multi-tone using just one ink color.   Stamp your focal image as desired using Wild Wheat ink only.
5.  Add a ribbon around the focal image.  TIP: burn the ends of your ribbon so that it doesn't fray...use a ribbon sealer tool or a lighter.
6.  Add dimensional to the focal image and add it to the card front.
7.  Stamp greeting and trim down close to letters on all sides
8. Die-cut the hexagon.
9.  Layer the greeting together and add it to the card front using Dimensionals.
10.  Embellish with In-Color Dots.
