3 Fun Folds...

On Tuesday night's Stamp With Shel Free Online Card Class, we made three funfolds.

Here is the first card we made; it is a Bookbinding Z Fold:

This card features the FABULOUS new Flowering Zinnias Suite of products coming March 1 to Online Exclusives!

Here are the measurements:

And here is an alternate I made using the Bee Mine Suite:

Here is a look from the top down:

The second card we made was the DSP showcase card:

This super easy card showcases both sides of the GORGEOUS DSP.

Here are the measurements:

And the final card we made was supposed to be a Flip Card....well I messed up big time and it was a total catastrophe.  My card was pretty....but it did not flip!  Here is what I made:

As promised during the live I have figured out what I did wrong and it was a simple mistake....I cut the wrong half of the circle!  Duh!

Here is what the card is supposed to look like:

I was supposed to cut the half of the circle closest to the bottom edge....that way when you open the card the circle flips over showing the opposite side like this:

You will notice that I embossed the bottom edge of this card.  TIP:  I DO NOT recommend this.  The embossing weakens the cardstock and mine tore when I flipped the card.

Here is a look at the two cards together:

Here they are showing the top cut on the flower card and the bottom cut (correct so card flips) on the bird card:

Technique Tuesday...A Trio of Scrappy Strip Cards...Featuring Color & Contour Bundle

Feeling overwhelmed with scraps?

Lost your creative mojo and need an idea?

I have the answer......the SCRAPPY STRIP TECHNIQUE!

This technique is a win win for me.....cleans up scraps and is easy to do!

How?  Simply cut up scraps into strips....I did 1/2 inch but you can do whatever width or length you want.  Mix it up and do different widths on same card....just have fun with it.

Here are the cards I made:

This first card features the Pretty Peacock tones.  I added the strips on a slant for interest.  I stamped and die-cut a couple of yellow flowers for a pop of color.  The circles and the Nested Essential die cuts were in my leftover bits box, so I could also clean that up!

My second card is soft and subtle with the leftover strips of DSP in soft pinks and blues. I added the strips on an angle for added interest. All the circles were in my leftover bits box.  A gingham bow and some dots were all that I added.

And finally, on my third card, I amped up the glitz by adding gold circles, gold ribbon, and gold dots.  For this one, I applied the strips vertically.

Have you given this technique a try?

What is your favorite technique?

Flowering Zinnia's for Monday Makes...

I have been playing with my pre-order for the NEW ONLINE EXCLUSIVES coming on March 1st.

The Flowering Zinnia Suite was a MUST for me!

This card was so easy.  The DSP has a couple of those 12x12 sheets that you can simply cut down into six pieces to easily make six GORGEOUS cards with little to no effort!  I like EASY!

Just check out all those fabulous colors!

The greeting is from the bundle and the adhesive-backed sequins are also part of this GORGEOUS suite!

Here is a sneak peek video for this suite:

Stampin Dreams Blog Hop....Reduce Reuse Recycle Challenge....

This month's challenge is Reduce Reuse Recycle.

So.....I did just that.....I pulled out my scrap bin and my bits box (leftover bits get tossed in here regularly) and was determined to make my card using just scraps and bits.

Here is my card:

The leaves, deer, truck and tag were all in my bits box.

The Early Espresso, Wild Wheat, and Basic White strip were all in my scrap bin.

How is that for reducing scraps and recycling!

The Basic White cardstock for the card base was cut new.

Now for the reuse part....you will notice the stitching down the side of the front panel...I reused something from my scrapbooking days many moons ago:

It is a tool that perforates paper so you can sew with embroidery floss to create cool patterns.

I honestly haven't touched this in at least ten years.  I thought I would take this opportunity and try it on a card.

The only stamping I did on this card was the sentiment as everything else was pre-stamped from other projects and dumped in my bits box.

Now hop along to check out what my creative friends have to share with you:

Delightful Doily Hybrid Embossing Folder (and dies)

Last night was my Facebook Live Online Free Class.  The featured product was the Delightful Doily Hybrid Embossing Folder and Dies.

Here is a quick look:

There is one embossing folder and four dies that allow you to emboss or cut, or cut and emboss all in one step!

And here are the cards I made during the video:

These cards were a super quick and easy way to build up a small stash of cards quickly, simply by changing the greetings.

I used the Delightful Doily Hybrid and the Stylish Shapes dies.

The cardbases are all standard 8 1/2 x 5 1/2....the mat layers are all 4 x 5 1/4.

A few gems and a ribbon bow completed each card.

Here is the replay of last night's video:
