Sunburst Technique in a scrapbook layout

This is another layout I designed for my November scrapbooking class.

One of my girls saw a card that I had made using the sunburst technique and commented that she wanted to learn how to make it. Trouble is that she is primarily a scrapbooker....and does not attend many card classes.

So I decided to apply the technique to this scrapbook layout....same technique, just on a much larger scale.

This layout features my beautiful grandaughter Brielle when she was just a wee one.

To create this layout I first started with Bermuda Bay cardstock.

To create the starburst I cut 7 pieces of scrap cardstock into 1.5 x 6 inch pieces and then cut them diagonnally corner to corner to make 14 pieces.  I then measured three inches down and marked a line. This was where I began attaching the wedge shaped paper with Tombow.

A punched circle in real red cardstock covered up the tips of the sunburst.

I used the five petal flower punch  and the scalloped border punch and some daffodil delight cardstock to give the layout a bit of bright interest.
