66. Tips and Tricks: Blender Pens

Our Blender Pens are mainly used for applying color by picking up ink from the ink pad, drops of refill ink, or from a Stampin’ Write Marker.

But did you know you can use a Blender Pen as an eraser on a stamp?

After inking up a stamp, if you want to apply a different color to a portion of the stamp, remove that area of ink by picking it up with a Blender Pen. Go back and remove more ink if necessary from the stamp. This works best for just small areas where you want to clean off a little bit of the ink, otherwise it is easier to color with markers on different areas of the stamp.

TIP: Remember to clean the tip of your Blender Pen every time you remove ink from your stamp. Just wipe the tip on scrap paper or paper towels..

This is a card I made, last week....but it was designed by my up-line Denise. Isn't it a cool card!

Party Pop-Up Thinlet Dies in Watermelon Wonder and Basic Black

I got a chance to "play" on the weekend and decided to try out my new Party Pop-Up Thinlet Dies. Wow these are fun!...Here is a look at the inside of my card:

The only thing I would change is to use the mini balloon punch instead of the large one that I used.

Rose Garden Bundle. . . failed card. . . learn from my errors. . . .

Ok....so this is the beautiful bundle in the Occasions Mini Catalog called Rose Garden.....it has a matching stamp set and framelit set. GORGEOUS!

This is definitely not a card I am proud of. . . but I decided to post it anyway to show you my errors so the same thing doesn't happen to you.

I cut the rose die from basic black card stock and adhered it to watercolor paper card base (mistake one) I should have heat embossed the image on to watercolor paper and then adhered the watercolor paper layer onto another card base....then there would be no warping and no bleeding from the black card stock.

I grabbed my aqua painter and flooded the image with water and then picked up ink to color the images. See the leaf on the right where the black cardstock bled into the green ink....not cool.

Also, where the glue seeped out around the flower it is impossible to color with the ink...leaving white spots.

So. . . my message to you is this....this could be an amazing card if:

1. Heat emboss image onto watercolor paper (no bleeding, no glue)
2. Adhere the image piece onto a separate card base (no warping)

Sky Is The Limit, , , another Sale-A-Bration freebie. . .

Quick and cute was the order of the day.

Basic Black card base with a piece of black and white striped designer series paper.

The focal image and greeting were stamped on Soft Sky card stock.

Then I ran it through the Cloudy Day embossing folder.

Adhere focal image to a black mat and adhere to cardfont on an angle for added interest.

Easy. . . quick. . . cute. . . done!
