Technique Focus

Looking for a technique? Think stencils! You can create this easy-to-assemble, non-stamping card in just minutes using the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks, ink, and Blending Brushes. First, simply fold Very Vanilla Cardstock in half to make a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"  card; then, create the Basic White Cardstock panel using the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks, ink, and Blending Brushes. What’s our unique color combo? Calypso Coral, Copper Clay, Lost Lagoon, and Petal Pink. So fun! Splash embellishments across the stamped, cardstock panel—they look like little raindrops!— and I think they’re the perfect complement for the card. The Lost Lagoon Tinsel Gems add the perfect touch and go nicely with the warm tones of the flowers. The final step? Die-cut Copper Clay Cardstock several times using the “For you” sentiment from the Love for You Dies, then stack and adhere them together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Ta-da! You have a beautiful sentiment centerpiece for your card! What a great, stand-out project—and it works for just about any occasion! What can you make with these beautiful stencils?

 Welcome to Stamp Therapy With Shel Episode #2.  

This is a new video series where I will design simple, beautiful, stress-free cards.  I will post two videos weekly: Sunday at 10 am and Wednesday night at 7 pm.

My advice to you when using these cards.....don't be afraid to alter them!  For each of the above cards I cut up the M & M cards....go for it!  Have fun with them!

Measurements: 

Card Base:  Basic White:  9 3/4 x 5 1/2 score 4 1/4 and 7 1/2

DSP: Pattern 1: 4 x 5 1/4 

         Pattern 2: 2 x 3 1/4 

Mat Layer: Fresh Freesia: 4 1/4 x 3 

Mat Layer:  Bubble Bath: 2 x 3 1/4

Embossed Mat Layer: Fresh Freesia: 4 1/4 x 3

Stamped Layer: Basic White: 2 3/4 x 4 

Instructions:

1. Fold the card base on the score lines: with the smallest panel on the right fold mountain then valley.  Burnish flat.  
2. Take a pencil and measure down 2 inches on the score line closest to the smallest panel and make a tic mark. Now measure down on the next score line 1 inch and make a tic mark. 
3. From the end of the short side cut off the top of the card from the tic mark on each scoreline.  This will make a stair step. 
4. Re-fold your card. 
5. Add DSP and mat layers to panels as shown in photos
6. I used a balloon sticker mounted on white card stock for my focal image and star stickers to embellish my card
