“Do you remember what motivated you to join your team leader’s team?” asks Austrian demonstrator Carina Vorarberger. “What drew you in? The answers to these questions are possibly going to be the same things that will appeal to your potential and new team members.”
Besides recalling your own reasons for wanting to join someone’s team, Carina suggests three more tips for attracting new team members:- Your current team members can certainly tell others how much they enjoy being on your team. Include them in your Stampin’ Up! activities! For instance, you could offer workshops for customers which your team members can also attend. Your customers will be able to feel your team spirit and tell whether or not they would feel comfortable with you (and your team).
- Be a demonstrator with conviction and actively show what you love about it.
- Offer customers who regularly place large orders (above the Starter Kit price) the opportunity to join. Not every customer wants to be a demonstrator, but they may want to know that joining could be worthwhile.
When it comes to keeping team members, Carina says, “The most important thing is to remain true to yourself. And remember, making team members feel comfortable should not always be about constantly providing fun for them, but also about offering them an opportunity for communication—a space to exchange ideas, craft, share business tips, and to simply enjoy successes together.”
Carina goes on to say that during team meetings—whether virtual or in-person—new team members should be warmly welcomed and introduced. You may also want to organize team activities, such as card swaps or craft challenges. This can result in important bonding experiences with the team while giving them samples and ideas to share with their family, friends, and customers.
