Technique Focus |
Zip strips and peek-through cards have the spotlight for this week’s technique focus article—thanks to our fabulous Hooray for Surprises Dies! To make this “zippy” card:
The recipient will be delighted to tear open the zip strip to find a fun surprise hidden inside! You will love learning how to make “surprising” birthday cards with these unique dies. Here is the Hooray for Surprises Bundle and some alternate samples: |
I used my blending brushes to apply ink (Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Sorbet, Cajun Craze) directly to the stamp ( I used a stamp positioner so I could repeat the process and get good coverage)
I love how the background turned out.
Then it was a simple stamp/cut/color with Stampin' Blends and my card was basically done.
Artsy Fartsy + Easy Peasy = card I love! HA HA!
Note that both of these stamp sets are retiring....get them before they are gone forever.....

Up first is Carole's card:
I hope you will join us next Monday for Melon Mambo!
The challenge was to use green, pink, and yellow in a card.
Here is Carole's gorgeous card:
For me, it is the inked background she created with a blending brush and a mask. This makes the card!
Of course the Dainty Delight bundle is a staple for every card maker!
To find these Online Exclusive products:
For today's card, I wanted to showcase the Magnolia Mood bundle which is an Online Exclusive. It is available while supplies last.
I chose a Basic Black card base 8 1/2 x 51/2 and scored at 4 1/4
I added a Basic White liner to the inside 3 3/4 x 5
The front mat layer is Moody Mauve and I embossed it with the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder.
The magnolia image was die-cut from Basic Black card stock.
I colored some pearls with a black marker to embellish.
