Taco Thursday?

How about Taco Thursday to spice up your week?

A month ago, I had to make a fun fold card for a tutorial coop I belong to.  While making that card, I also decided to make a standard card for a blog post.  

I love this because it uses up all the bits of scraps!  

I don't know about you but I get a ton of skinny strips of scrap that I cut off cards, or have just a bit left over from punching something out.  This design uses up those bits! 

How You Can Make It: 

Supplies: 

Taco Fiesta Stamp Set
Parakeet Party card stock

Stylish Shapes dies

Double Oval Punch
Basic White card stock
Basic Black card stock
Memento Black ink pad
Stampin Blends for coloring images

Black and White Gingham ribbon

Parakeet Party Metallic Ribbon

Ombre Matte Decorative Dots

Paper Snips

Tombow

Stampin' Dimensionals

Circle Punches or Circle Dies

Measurements:

Card Base: Basic Black: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Inside Mat: Basic White: 4 x 5 1/4
Outside Mat: Parakeet Party: 4 x 5 1/4 
Focal image mat: Basic White: 3 7/8 x 5 1/8

Greeting Mat: Basic Black: scrap

Greeting Tag &Images: Basic White: 4 x 5 1/4

Instructions:

1. Fold the card base on the score line and burnish it flat with a bone folder. 
2. Add the white liner to the inside of the card using Tombow. 
3. Add the Parakeet Party mat layer to the outside of the card using Tombow. 
4. Punch three circles (or whatever shape you want) into the white layer
5. Glue strips of bright-colored scraps to the back side of the openings
6. Attach the white layer to the front of the card using Tombow.
7. Die cut the banner from black scrap
8. Stamp the images and the greeting using Memento Black ink 
9. Color the images with Stampin Blends as desired. 
10. Punch the greeting with the oval punch
11. Layer up the greeting and add to the card front with Dimensionals
12. Fussy cut the images and add to circles using Dimensonals 
13. Wrap ribbons around the card front and tie them off in a knot
14. Embellish with dots.

Super Wednesday with Inked and Tiled Bundle...

Hey Hey Hey Stampers!  It is super Wednesday!   

Now you may ask what is so super about Wednesday?  It is hump day! 

 We are at the halfway point of our week and starting the downhill trek toward the weekend!  Any reason to celebrate-LOL! 

Today I am bringing you a card I made with the Inked and Tiled bundle found on page 94.

 How You Can Make It:

Supplies: 

Basic White card stock
Smokey Slate card stock
Radiating Stitches Dies
Inked and Tiled Bundle
White Bakers Twine colored with Smokey Slate marker
 Smokey Slate ink pad and marker

Tombow adhesive

Stampin' Dimensionals

Measurements:

Card Base: Basic White  8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"

X Punch Elements: Smokey Slate: punch 10

Mat Layer: Basic White: Die cut with the Radiating Stitches Die

Greeting Layer: Basic White: Die cut with the Radiating Stitches Die

Instructions: 

1. Fold the card base on the score line and burnish it flat with a bone folder. 
2. Punch ten x elements with punch, then glue them onto the card front using Tombow. 
3. Die cut the mat layer and greeting tag using the Radiating Stitches dies. 
4. Stamp the leaf on the mat layer using Smokey Slate ink. 
5. Attach the mat layer to the front of the card using Stampin Dimensionals
6. Stamp the greeting on the tag using Smokey Slate ink
7. Attach greeting to card front using dimensionals
8. Color white bakers twine with Smokey Slate marker. 
9. Make a bow and add it to the stem of the leaf
10. Embellish with gems.

Creative Challenge for June

Ready for our monthly Creative Challenge?  This month’s goal: to use Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends!  If you’d like to know how to make our sample card, here are some helpful tips. To make the card front, apply Matte Finish Embossing Paste to a piece of thick Basic White Cardstock using a spatula and Foursquare Decorative Masks. Adhere the embossed cardstock to a Basic White Cardstock card. Stamp the moth images from the Night of Flight Stamp Set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Basic White Cardstock; then, color them with Berry Burst, Fresh Freesia, Misty Moonlight, and Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends in Medium Light, Medium Deep, and Deep. Fussy cut the moths and adhere them to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Stamp the sentiment from the Tropical Leaf Stamp Set (Online Exclusives) in VersaMark ink on Misty Moonlight Cardstock. Sprinkle the image with white embossing powder and heat set. Cut the sentiment into a banner shape and adhere it to the card front. Adhere Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels to the card front for a bit of extra sparkle and shine! Coppery Around The Bend...

Hey Hey Hey, Stampers!  Happy Tuesday!  

Today I am back with another card featuring the FABULOUS (can you tell I love these dies) Around The Bend dies! You can find these on page 162 and there is a coordinating stamp set found on page 116.

4. Stamp the greeting using Memento Black ink and Stamparatus tool onto the Copper Clay mat layer. 
5. Glue the Copper Clay mat layer to the card front with Tombow. 
6. Glue the black scallop edge to the die-cut Basic White Panel.
7. Add the ribbon to the Basic White Panel. 
8. Glue the Basic White panel to the card front using Tombow.
9. Embellish your card with flowers and leaves.

I love the textured background and the whimsical cat.  

Choosing vegetable garden colors for the letters is genius!

Today it is all about clean and simple. 

My card has lots of white space, but has bright colorful flowers and a bright greeting to keep it interesting!

8. Embellish with rhinestones.
