Christmas Star Quilt Card

The hot new trend right now is making quilt cards.

So of course, I had to give it a try.  Super easy and a wow card for sure!

I have seen these by Mandy Vanhavermat, Sandy Carleson, and  Susan Campfield.

How You Can Make It:

Card Base: Real Red: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2

Inner Liner: Basic White: 4 x 5 1/4

Mat: Basic White: 4 x 5 1/4 emboss with Cute Crochet folder

Square Mat: Real Red: 3 1/4 x 3 1/4

Square Focal: Basic White: 3x3- draw a pencil line point to point in both directions so that you can keep your dsp strips straight

Corner Squares: Basic White: 4@ 3/4 x 3/4

Label: Basic White: 2 3/4 x 1 1/2

DSP: Take a Bow: 4@ 1/2 x 6

Stamps: Snowy Wonder

Dies: Peaceful Season

Ribbon: Garden Green

Embellishment: Regal Foiled Dots

Ink: Real Red

1. Fold the card base on the score line and burnish fold flat.

2.  Add a Basic White card liner to the inside of the card.

3.  Emboss the Basic White mat layer with the Cute Crochet folder.

4.  Stamp the greeting on the label then die cut with the Peaceful Season die.

5. Add Garden Green ribbon to the label and secure it on the bottom front of the mat.

6.  Add a Real Red square mat to the card front.

7.  Draw pencil lines from corner to opposite corner in both directions.  This will allow you to have a straight line to add your DSP properly.

8.  Add Dsp strips to the Basic White focal square.  Each strip goes tight to the pencil line and you over or underlap (paper weave) the strips at the center (paper weave). Ensure these strips are glued the whole length so they don't lift when you emboss.

9.  Trim off excess DSP

10.  Glue white square in each corner

11.  Emboss with the Cute Crochet folder

10.  Embellish with Garden Green ribbon knot and Regal Foiled Dots

Now just think of all the wee strips of leftover DSP that you can make into these amazing quilt cards!

Hope you enjoy this one.  Leave a comment and share your creations!
