Simple Stamping With Shel....Faux Stitching Technique

 

Hey Hey Stampers! 

Today, I have a sympathy card to share with you that I made with a color I seldom use...Gray Granite.  

I used the faux stitching technique ...a super simple technique where you add "stitches" using a white gel pen.  It is super easy to do and adds a bit of interest to your cards.  

I hope you give this technique a try today! 

Here is my card: 

This card has a quiet, masculine feel to it.  

Supplies: 

Cardstock:  Gray Granite and Basic White
DSP: Woven Textures DSP
Dots: Dappled Dots
Adhesives: Tombow, Dimensionals
Dies:  Hearts Dies (retired)
Stamps:  Elements of Text, Happy Little Things
Tools: Paper Trimmer, White Gel Pen
Inks:  Gray Granite

Measurements: 

Card Base: Basic White: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 score 4 1/4
Front Mat: Gray Granite: 4 x 5 1/4
DSP: Woven Textures: 1 3/4 x 5 1/4
Mat Layer: Basic White: 3x3 1/4
Tag Mat: Gray Granite: 3 1/4 x 1
Tag: Basic White: 3 x 3/4
Large Heart: Gray Granite: 2x2
Small Heart: Basic White: 1 1/2 x 1 1/2

Simple Stamping With Shel- Easy Fun Fold Card with Happy Hibiscus Bundle....


 Today's card is an easy fun fold that will be a "wow" for the recipient!

At first glance it may look a bit intimidating....but I assure you it is super simple! 

How You Can Make It: 

Supplies:

Happy Hibiscus Bundle
Spotlight on Nature Dies
Stampin Blends
Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Basic White card stock
Inks:  Memento Black and Daffodil Delight
Embellishment: Gold Thread

Measurements:  
Card Base 1:  Basic White: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 score 4 1/4 
Card Base 2: Daffodil Delight: 8 1/4 x 4 score  4, 6 1/8
 Flowers and Greeting Tag: Basic White: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
Leaves and Tag Mat: Garden Green: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 

Instructions:  
1.  Fold the White card base on the score line and press it flat using a bone folder.  
2.  Using Daffodil Delight ink and a small texture stamp
3.  Die cut the circle from the front of the card (keep it) 
4.  Fold Daffodil card base on the score lines and press it flat using a bone folder. 
5.  Glue the Daffodil card base to the inside back panel of the white card base as shown in the photos.
6.  Fold the card up flat and eyeball where you need to place adhesive on the flap to attach the circle.  
7.  Stamp flowers and greeting, color flowers, and die cut flowers and leaves. 
8.  Decorate and embellish card as desired


It looks like a normal card when closed...
But when opened it is a WOW!

Simple Stampin With Shel: CASEing Tuesday Challenge #506

 


This is my take on this week's CASE-ing Tuesday Sketches.

I went a little rogue and added another layer and changed the shape of the focal image and added some embellishments.  

I used Elements of Text, Spotlight on Nature dies, Memorable Blooms, Everyday Happiness, Lost Lagoon Ribbon, Basic White, Smoky Slate and Lost Lagoon card stock.

SIMPLE STAMPING WITH SHEL....MASCULINE


 Today, I thought I would share a simple masculine card that is very easy to make. 

Here is my card:


For me, masculine cards are not easy, but this one sure is!  

I used masculine colors and the Woven Textures DSP to create this card, which could be for appreciation, a thank you, or a birthday.
