Kit Week....Maritime Moments....a two-fer!

 

 Stampin' Up! has some A-M-A-Z-I-N-G kits available and provides us with TWO new kits each and every month!   I thought I would highlight a few of these products this week to give you a close-up view. 

There are two types of Card Kits available: 

• stamping kits -include an ink spot and a stamp set in the kit
• non-stamping kits- do not include ink or stamps, but have  pre-printed images and greetings

There are Crafting Kits available:

• 3D kits (flowers, bags, tags, ornaments etc)
• wall art kits

Today I am sharing my final card, which is another alternative to the kit: 

I used the inside of one of the envelopes for DSP background, added colored card

base and mat layers to make it pop!

I used some of the elements from the kit and added some of my own....I like doing this because I can get MANY more cards from one kit.  

As you can see, all the elements work together beautifully.

How You Can Make It:

Supplies: 

Basic White card stock

Shaded Spruce card stock

Turtley Cute DSP

Shades of Green Hexagons

Memento Black ink pad

Stampin' Blend alcohol markers

Measurements: 

Card Base: Basic White: 5 1/2 x 10 3/4 

                                                score 1 5/8. 3 1/4, 7 1/2, 9 1/8

Front Mats: Shaded Spruce: 5 x 3 + 4 1/2 x 2 1/2

Front DSP:  4 3/4 x 2 3/4 +2 1/4 x 4 1/4

Inside mat: Shaded Spruce: 3 x 5

Inside Greeting Panel: Basic White: 2 3/4 x 4 3/4

Instructions: 

1. Fold the card base mountain, valley, valley, mountain and press the scores flat with a bone folder. 
2. Add the inside mat and greeting panel.
3. Add DSP to the outside mats. 
4. Add a larger mat to the left-hand gate, creating an even border on three sides. 
5. Add a smaller mat to the right-hand gate, creating an even border on all sides. 
6. Now all you have left to do is stamp color and decorate! 

Tip: remember if you are careful with your placement the turtle on the left gate will remain hidden until you open your card.

Ok....so here is my final card for this Gallery Blooms class:  

 Since I have already done a fun fold and a square card, a standard card, a fun technique card was in order. This technique creates a fence background!  It is very simple to do and is just clever placement of strips of embossed cardstock!
