This month, our fearless leader challenged us to design a project using the new 2025-2027 in-colors.
Here is a peek at those fabulous new colors:
I decided to use the new Sunrise Sailing Bundle for my card.
Here is a look at that FABULOUS new bundle:
Here is my card for this challenge:
Here is how I made my card:
- I started out with a Basic White cardstock measuring 3 3/4 x 5.
- I masked off the bottom part of the card with masking paper.
- I punched a circle from masking paper and added it to the center of the card.
- Using a blending brush, I inked around the "sun" with Timid Tiger ink.
- Using a blending brush, I inked around the outside of the Timid Tiger with Strawberry Slush ink.
- Using a blending brush, I inked the outside edge using Secret Sea ink.
- I removed the mask from the sun.
- Using a blending brush, I inked the sun and a bit into the Timid Tiger using Darling Duckling ink.
- I removed the bottom mask and used it to cover the top half to protect what I just inked.
- Using Secret Sea ink (very lightly) I added ink to the bottom half to create the sea
- Using water stamp I then repeatedly stamped it in various directions to create the waves with Secret Sea ink.
- I used a ruler and Light Misty Moonlight blend to create the horizon.
- I die-cut the boa and birds and added to the front of the art panel
- I stamped the greeting and die cut and added to the front of the art panel
- I added the art panel to a Secret Sea mat layer 4x 5 1.4
- I added this to a Cloud Cover card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
- I added a Basic White liner to the inside 4 x 5 1/4 and an additional die-cut boat.
- I added two of the 25-27 in color gems to the greeting tag
Here is a close-up of the ink blending:
- Minimal ink on your brush,
- Start off your paper to avoid blotches,
- Gradually build your color.
