A fun fold with a belly band was how I chose to attack this challenge.

Two Fresh Spring /Summer Ideas That You Can Make In A Snap!

Techniques and fun folds are fun, but sometimes, you just want a quick and easy card.  Look to your DSP and let it do all the work!

For me personally, whenever I'm not feeling creative, this type of card gets me going. Then, I step it up to a sketch or a challenge, and my creativity is restored.

For my first card, I chose a Calypso Coral card base and a Basic Black mat layer to make it pop.  The DSP does ALL the heavy lifting for this card!

For my second card, I basically replicated my first card, but in landscape mode.  The DSP again shines brightly.  A die-cut greeting and a few flowers to embellish, and I was done!

Stamp With Shel- Emboss Resist and a challenge!

pump up the wow factor!

Bold, Bright Ink Layers? Grab Your VersaMark!
Have you seen scratch art pads?

The technique is easy! Simply scratch a pattern into the solid black surface, and vibrant colors come shining through.

Today’s Wow Tip is like that, but in reverse—we designed a brilliantly-colored base and applied dark ink over it, utilizing emboss resist to create a dazzling end result.

Let’s give it a try!
Step 1: Apply Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party ink to a Basic White Cardstock panel using Blending Brushes; overlap the colors to blend.
Step 2: Stamp the images using VersaMark and heat emboss using clear embossing powder.
Step 3: Apply Night of Navy ink using a Blending Brush and wipe away excess ink to reveal the embossed images below.
Now I have a challenge for you....try this technique using current Stampin' Up! products and send me a photo of your completed project.

Simple Stamping With Shel- Technique Tuesday- Heat Embossing- With You In Mind...

Happy Tuesday!

For this edition of Simple Stamping With Shel, we are using the heat-embossing technique.

Heat embossing is a quick and easy way to add a wow factor to any card.

If you can stamp, you can heat emboss!

You just have to remember you need to ALWAYS prep the surface of what you are going to heat emboss with the embossing buddy FIRST.  The embossing buddy removes oils and static and keeps the embossing powder from sticking where you do not want it.  If you have a speckle where you don't want it, make sure you brush it away BEFORE you heat set.

For my card today, I used the With You In Mind stamp set #164747 found on page 37 of the Annual Catalog. Here is a peek at that stamp:

Here are some alternate ideas using this stamp set to inspire you:

Global Design Project #500- CASE the Designer Challenge....

This week the Global Design Project Challenge is to CASE the designer.

I chose the uber talented Stesha Bloodhart and CASED her card using current products:

Merry Monday....A Trio of Snowflake Cards...Recycle It- From Trash To Treasure...

 Happy Monday, Stampers!

I'm going to kick off the week with some Christmas cards that I made using a small recycled gift bag that was torn. I thought, why toss it?  Let's see if I can make some cards with it!

Here are my cards:

The gift bag was kraft-colored with white snowflakes, so for my first card, I went with kraft and white cardstock.  I added some layers, snowflakes, tags and gems and was pleased with my first card.

My second card is square.  I simply cut my square of the gift bag corner to corner and split a seam where I could stamp my greeting. I added some layers and a black greeting and mat to make it pop.  I opted to leave this one plain with no embellishments.

For my final card I was out of gift bag so I added a piece of DSP from my stash. I added black layers to make the elements pop and finished by embellishing with gingham ribbon and a rhinestone gem.

I hope this gives you pause the next time you go to throw something in the trash.  Stop for a moment, and ask yourself how you can recycle it. 😉

Good morning Stampers!

Today I am taking part in the Global Design Project Weekly Challenge #499.  Here was our challenge:

And here is my card featuring the Resourceful Rusty stamp set:

Stamp With Shel- Creative Inking for Technique Thursday....

I was trying to use up some leftover bits and came up with this fun festive card that is perfect for Pride month.

I used a piece of scrap cardstock to mask as I added ink to the white panel using a small blending brush.  It created a bright backdrop.

I added a greeting to a leftover banner die cut and added a mat layer to make it pop.

I added some leftover branches as well and a few black gems.

The colors I used were:  Lemon Lime Twist, Azure Afternoon, Melon Mambo
