Quick and Cute Class- card one- Lovely As a Tree
This is one of three cards we made in my November Quick and Cute card class.
It features the Lovely As A Tree Stamp set. We masked off the card and sponged it, then stamped the tree image. Remove the masking tape and added a greeting.

October Thank You's....
Normally I put a thank you card in each order.....but in October I put one of these cute treat bags I made using the supplies from my Paper Pumpkin kit.
Aren't they adorable- and there was lots of room in the bags for adding treats for the girls.

A Sticky Situation. . .
I have been asked once again about types of adhesives I use and which adhesives to use in what situation.....so here is a brief refresher:
Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue: Wet, white glue that dries clear. This is the adhesive I use most, but not for ribbon. Small dots of this glue provide a strong, permanent bond. Dries in a few seconds, but with time to slide your paper into position. Be sure to apply small amounts- and don't get it too close to the edge of the cardstock. Store with the tip down so the glue is always ready and the nozzle doesn't clog.
Fine-Tip Glue Pen: Fine nozzle will not clog because cap has needle-like thing that slides into it pretty easily. You needto press items together for a few seconds until the glue sets. Perfect for small embellishments like sequins.
2-Way Glue Pen: Wet but thick, not drippy. Permanent if materials are adhered while glue is wet, but if glue is allowed to dry, bond will be temporary. Not for ribbon.
Tear & Tape Adhesive: Takes the place of the "red double-sided tape." Excellent for adhering non-sheer ribbon like burlap or twill. Very strong.
Mini Glue Dots: Dry dots of glue used to adhere buttons, bows, and the ends of ribbon. Great for adhering something to Glimmer Paper.
Stampin' Dimensionals: Six-sided foam pieces with adhesive on both sides. Used to give pop up panels and elements (pop-dots).
Fast Fuse Adhesive: Tape-runner style perfect for paper-to-paper as well as non-sheer ribbon. Very strong and permanent. After rolling, make a "check" with your hand to break the adhesive so you don't pull it away from your project.
SNAIL Adhesive: Tape-runner style excellent for paper-to-paper. Permanent. Use the "check" technique with this, too.

Baby Swipe Technique...You've Got This and Happy Scenes
This card I made because I wanted to try out a new technique- the BabyWipe Technique.
Basically you take a baby wipe, fold it up and add reinker drops to the edge and wipe it across your cardstock.
I used three colors of reinker here, River Rock, Pretty In Pink, and Bashful Blue. All these reinkers are retired colors.....but great for techniques like this!
Then I used Archival Black ink and stamped the tree images from the Happy Scenes stamp set. The greeting is from You've Got This stamp set.
A strip of glitzy washi tape, and a sparkly snowflake embellishment, finishes this card off beautifully.
I love the contrast between the black ink and card base and the pastel colors in the background.

A Masculine Thanksgiving card. . .
I am truly so thankful and grateful that this wonderful man is in my life.
I wanted to make him a card that relayed that message without being too "mushy"
I started out with a Basic Black card base.
I added a piece of Go Wild designer series paper that looked masculine to me.
Next I stamped the greeting on Crumb Cake cardstock and matted it on Basic Black.
Then I stamped the second greeting on Mossy Meadow card stock and cut it out using the Leaf Framelits.

A different type of Thanksgiving Card. . .
I chose a black and white patterned designer series paper and applied color using ink, sponge daubers, and some post it masking tape. The inks I chose were Daffodil Delight, Cucumber Crush and Tempting Turquoise.
Then I stamped the Thankful greeting from the Six Sayings stamp set found on page 51 of the Holiday Catalog.
I stamped the leaf image from Vintage Leaves stamp set found on page 88 of the annual catalog using Cucumber Crush Ink. Then I cut out the image using the Big Shot and coordinating framelit die.
Net I applied assorted inks to the leaf and attached it to the front of the card with a dimensional. Next I applied a THIN layer of crystal effects and let it dry, making a sparkly shiny leaf embellishment

Hardwood and Happy Scenes Thanksgiving Card
I used Soft Suede cardstock and stamped the hardwood image using Chocolate Chip Ink.
Next I adhered a piece of Burlap ribbon using glue dots
I used the Leaf Framelits and cut the leaf image from Mossy Meadow cardstock
Next I stamped the focal image on Whisper White cardstock using Archival Black ink. Then I colored the image with Stampin Write Markers.
Adhere all the layers together and attached to a Whisper White card base.

Paper Napkin Technique. . . a fail. . . and then finally a victory. . .
So here is what turned out in the end to be a sparkly beautiful card....however, I had a very hard time getting here!
I saw the technique on the internet and decided that I had to give it a try.
I went to the dollar store and scooped up some beautiful napkins.
Now the instructions said that you needed to separate the layers of the napkin so you only have the front printed one and discard the others. This was tricky....it is VERY easy to tear the napkin when you separate the layers. Finally I succeeded in this step.
Next you were to put your card stock down on your tabletop and cover it with a piece of plastic wrap. Then you were to lay the paper napkin on top. Cover with a piece of copy paper and iron with a dry iron ( no steam) on high.
Sounds simple enough. The idea is that the plastic melts the cardstock and napkin together. WELL!!! not true!!! I ironed for 20 minutes and could not get the dang plastic to melt!!! It was unbelievable. I used the dry iron....I even tried steam.....no way it would melt!!
I was SO FRUSTRATED!
Finally I gave up.....sat back and looked at the mess in front of me and decided to take matters into my own hands.
I grabbed my Stampin' Up! glue stick and covered the cardstock with the glue. Then I covered the glue with the paper napkin. Added the copy paper and ironed it again.
SUCCESS was mine!
Then I grabbed my scissors and carefully trimmed the napkin to be the exact size of the cardstock it was stuck to.
Then I grabbed my versamark pad and completely covered the napkin with the clear ink.
I applied Iridescent Ice embossing powder and heat set it. WOW was it glittery!
Then I just mounted it on a Mossy Meadow card base, whipped up a greeting and attached it to the front.
After an hour I finally had a napkin card......but not by following the directions.....I still have no idea why the plastic wrap would not melt.....strange but true!
If you have tried the Paper Napkin Technique and been successful with the plastic wrap please contact me and tell me how you did it.....I would LOVE to know!
