Zany Zoo Bundle with Painted Strips Technique...

 Hey Hey Hey Stampers!  I hope you are enjoying your Wednesday! 

I am having SO MUCH FUN playing with the new products just released in our NEW annual catalog!  

I just wanted to pop on for a minute and share a super-cute card I made using the new Zoo Crew Suite #161319 found on page 46 of our new Annual Catalog. I also did a background technique I am calling the Painted Strips Technique.

For the background technique.....I wanted the strips to look like wooden floorboards but in bright and funky colors. Here is a close-up:

Stampin' Blends in your choice- I used:

Memento Black Ink Pad #132708
Stiff short bristled paint Brush
Ruler
Cleaning rag
masking tape
Lemon Lolly ink pad #161666
Granny Apple Green ink pad #147095

Measurements: 

Card Base: Basic White: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 score 4 1/4
Mat Layer:  Granny Apple Green 4 1/4 x 3 3/8
Art Layer: 4 3/4 x 3 3/4

Instructions: 

  1. Fold the card base on the score line and burnish it flat with a bone folder. 
  2. Emboss the Granny Apple Green mat layer with a Basics Embossing Folder. 
  3. Attach the mat layer to the front of the card. 
  4. Use a ruler to create a horizontal line and fill in above the ruler with ink using a stiff short bristled paint brush.  Use a sweeping motion from left to right.  Continue until you have the desired amount of color. 
  5. Remove the ruler and clean it!  
  6. Replace the ruler to create another strip and do the same as above with alternate colors. 
  7. Remove the ruler and clean it! 
  8. Repeat until you have filled the panel
  9. Stamp greeting in Memento Black using the Stamparatus tool. 
  10. Cut the images from the DSP and color as desired with Stampin' Blends
  11. Glue images to the card front.
  12. Embellish with black dots and a bow.
