Kylie's Monthly International Blog Highlights

 


Today I am participating in Kylie's Monthly International Blog Highlights.  

As always, our theme is Thank you. 

Here is my card: 


I chose the scrappy strip technique for my card today.  This takes strips of cardstock to make a colorful background for your card.  It is a fabulous way to use up scraps!

I used the Stylish Shapes dies for my greeting, mat layers, and focal image.

How You Can Make It: 

Supplies:

Basic Black card stock
Basic White card stock
Scraps of colored card stock
Stylish Shapes Dies
Playing In The Rain bundle
Memento Black ink pad
Stampin' Blends
Adhesives
Stampin Cut N Emboss machine
Adhesive sheets

Measurements:

Basic Black (card base) 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 score 4 1/4 
Basic White (card liner) 4 x 5 1/4 
Basic White (foundation for strips) 3 3/4 x 5 
Adhesive Sheet 3 3/4 x 5
Tahitian Tide (mats) 3x3 
Basic White (greeting and focal) 2 3/4 x 2 3/4  &  2x3/4
Assorted 1/2" strips of card stock

Instructions: 

  1. Fold the card base on the score line and burnish it flat. 
  2. Add a Basic White card liner to the inside
  3. Attach the adhesive sheet to the Basic White foundation layer
  4. Add strips of card stock to the adhesive sheet making sure the strips are tight together so that no white shows through
  5. Trim off excess strips that hang over the edge
  6. Glue the focal panel on the card front
  7. Stamp the turtle on the diamond ( or square or circle) 
  8. Color image with Stampin Blends as desired. 
  9. Stamp greeting 
  10. Attach the focal image, and greeting to mat layers and then attach them to the card front.
