Latte Love- Technique Focus

Technique Focus
What could be better than a nice, warm cup of coffee in the morning—except stamping a card that makes you think about your nice, warm cup of coffee in the morning? If you agree, then we’ve got just the project for you . . . complete with a French press, spilled coffee, coffee splatters—all those happy, morning things!

To make this brew-tiful card, start with the Online Exclusive Latte Love Stamp Set, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, and Pecan Pie ink (which is a perfect coffee color!). Use a Water Painter’s wide brush to make a Pecan Pie watercolor wash in a circular pattern on the watercolor paper. Then, load up a mid-width brush with ink and tap it to create a small “coffee” splatter. To finish, stamp the splatter and coffee cup ring images around the edges. (We also made a watercolor wash with Pecan Pie ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper to make the “coffee” in the French Press.)

Add layers of Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper and Basic White Cardstock (embossed using the Layered Floral Embossing Folder), a die-cut French Press, two tiny coffee cups, and a sentiment stamped in Misty Moonlight ink. Voilà! Such a standout card! You may want to make a few of these so you always have something special on hand to share with a favorite friend!
